유치원 교육과정의 편성·운영과 관리 : 영어교육 활동의 실태 및 인식을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 유치원 교육과정의 편성·운영에 있어서 영어교육 활동을 규명하고, 유치원 교육과정이 국가 수준의 공통 과정으로서 생애 초기의 공정한 출발이 되도록 교육과정의 운영을 관리하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 방법은 국공립과 사립 유치원 교사, 원장을 대상으로 면담, 설문지에 응답하도록 하였다. 자료는 유치원 교육과정의 편성·운영과 영어교육활동의 실태 등을 수집하고 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 유치원 교육과정의 편성·운영은 시간, 내용, 방법 등에 있어서 설립 유형에 따라 분명하게 차이가 있었다. 사립 유치원은 분과화된 영어 교과 형식의 교육 활동과 종일반 돌봄과정을 정교사의 수업에 편성하여 운영하기도 한다. 유치원 교육과정이 국가 수준의 공통 과정으로서 생애 초기의 공정한 출발을 기대하려면 설립 유형에 상관없이 정규 교육과정 운영시간은 분과화된 교과 형식을 탈피한 정규수업을 정교사가 실행해야 할 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로, 영어교육 활동은 분과화된 영어 교과 형식의 학습이 아니라 다양한 흥미 영역에서 주제와 연계된 놀이에 통합된 형식으로 유아 스스로 실천하도록 개선되어야 한다. 교육과정의 활동은 영어교육이 아니라 다문화와 관련하여 의사소통 영역에서 수업의 주제와 통합적으로 내용에서 연계되어야 하며 유아 중심, 놀이 중심의 흥미 통합 자율 활동이 되도록 해야 한다. 또한, 사립 유치원은 정교사의 1일 4-5시간 교육과정 운영이 명시적으로 이루어질 수 있도록 종일반 교사 재정부터 지원되어야 한다. 이러한 시사점은 모든 유아가 동질의 교육을 받을 수 있는 생애 초기의 공정한 출발을 보장할 수 있도록 요청하는 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify English education activities in the organization and operation of the kindergarten curriculum, and to manage the operation of the curriculum so that the kindergarten curriculum is a common process at the national level and is a fair start in the early life. The research methods included interview with teachers and directors of state-run and private kindergartens and answering questionnaires. The data were collected and analyzed for the organization and operation of the kindergarten curriculum and the status of English education activities. As a result of the study, the organization and operation of the kindergarten curriculum clearly differed depending on the type of establishment in terms of time, content, and method. Private kindergartens also organize formal education activities and general care courses in specialized English courses in regular teachers' classes. In conclusion, In order for the kindergarten curriculum to be a common course at the national level, to expect a fair start in the early stages of life, regardless of the type of establishment, the regular curriculum is expected to carry out regular classes that break away from the divided curriculum. English education activities should be improved to practice by children themselves in an integrated form to play related to themes in various areas of interest, rather than learning in a subdivided English curriculum. The activities of the curriculum should be integrated in content with the subject of the lesson in the area of communication, not in English education, but in multiculturalism, and should be an autonomous activity that integrates interests centered on infants and play. In addition, private kindergartens should be supported from the end-of-day teacher's finances so that the full-time teacher can operate the curriculum 4-5 hours a day. Also, The implication is to request that all infants be guaranteed a fair start in the early stages of their homogeneous education.
