학령기 자녀를 둔 모의 성격강점, 사회적 지지가 양육효능감에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 학령기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 성격강점과 사회적 지지가 양육효능감에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 S시와 C시에 초등학생 자녀를 둔 어머니 230명을 대상으로 성격강점과 사회적 지지, 양육효능감 척도를 활용한 설문자료를 수집하여 상관분석과 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과에 따르면 첫째, 성격강점의 하위 덕목 중 지혜와 지식, 초월성, 용기가 양육효능감에 효과가 있었으며 세부 성격강점 중 희망, 통찰, 창의성, 진정성, 판단력, 감상력이 양육효능감을 설명하였다. 둘째, 사회적 지지 하위요인에서 정서적 지지와 평가적 지지가 양육효능감을 설명하는 유의미한 변수였다. 셋째, 성격강점과 사회적 지지 하위요인 중 양육효능감을 설명하는 가장 큰 요인은 정서적 지지로 나타났고, 지혜 및 지식, 용기, 평가적 지지, 정보적 지지 순으로 양육효능 감을 설명하였다. 본 연구결과는 학령기 모의 양육효능감을 증진할 수 있도록 효과적인 성격강점을 개발하고 사회적 지지를 강화하기 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는데 의의가 있으며 마지막으로 연구의 시사점과 제한점을 언급하였다.

영문 초록

In this study, we identified the effects of character strengths and social support on the parenting efficacy of mothers with school-age children. To achieve this, 230 mothers of elementary school children in S City and C City participated in a survey on character strengths, social support, and parenting efficacy scales. A correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were then conducted. First, wisdom, knowledge, transcendence, and courage, among the sub-level of character strength, influenced parenting efficacy, and hope, insight, creativity, authenticity, judgment, and appreciation, among the detailed character strengths, had a significant impact on parenting efficacy. Second, emotional support and evaluation support were significant variables affecting parenting efficacy as social support sub-factors. Third, among the sub-factors of personality strength and social support, emotional support was the main factor affecting parenting efficacy, in the order of wisdom and knowledge, courage, evaluation support, and information support. The results of this study are meaningful in highlighting effective character strengths to develop and providing basic data to strengthen social support that may enhance the parenting efficacy of school-age mothers, Finally, the implications and limitations of the study are discussed.
