국문 초록

본 연구는 지역아동센터를 이용하는 고학년 아동들을 대상으로 미술치료 프로그램을 구안하여 적용해보고 이들의 미술치료 프로그램 참여 경험과 공감력 변화를 알아보는 데 그 목적을 두었다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 지역아동센터 아동의 집단미술치료 프로그램 회기별 참여 경험은 어떠한가? 둘째, 집단미술치료 프로그램 참여 아동의 공감력 변화는 어떠한가? 본 연구는 질적 연구 방법인 참여관찰법을 활용한 사례연구로 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 충북 C 시의 지역아동센터를 이용하고 있는 초등학교 5∼6학년 5명을 대상으로 집단미술치료 프로그램을 수행하였다. 프로그램 참여자들의 변화를 알아보고자 프로그램의 사전⋅사후에 공감력 척도 검사, 동적 집-나무-사람 그림 검사, 학교생활화 그림 검사를 하였으며, 검사 결과를 비교하였다. 각 연구 문제에 따른 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 참여 아동들은 집단미술치료 프로그램 활동을 통해 새로운 미술 매체를 접하고 다양한 감각을 자극하며, 자신의 감정을 해소할 수 있었다. 집단미술치료 프로그램 구성 시 초기 단계, 중기 단계, 종결 단계인 3단계로 나누는 단계별 접근방법을 통해 아동의 참여 경험에 효과적인 영향을 미칠 수 있었다. 둘째, 프로그램에 참여한 아동들의 공감력이 전반적으로 향상된 결과가 나왔다. 공감력 검사의 하위요소별 평균을 비교하였을 때, ‘인지적 공감’의 하위요소인 ‘상상하기’를 제외한 ‘조망 취하기’와 ‘정서적 공감’의 하위요소인 ‘공감적 관심’, ‘공감적 각성’에서 점수가 향상되어 공감력이 향상됨을 볼 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 집단미술치료 프로그램은 초등학교 고학년의 참여 경험과 공감력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 아동이 이용하는 다양한 기관에서 미술치료를 접목한 공감력 증진 프로그램이 다양하게 활용되기를 기대한다. 아동의 공감력 향상을 위한 집단미술치료 프로그램들이 계속 개발되어 현장에서 활성화되기를 바란다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to devise and apply art therapy programs for senior children using community children's centers and to investigate changes in their experience and empathy in participating in art therapy programs. In order to achieve this research purpose, the following research questions were set up. First, what is the experience of children in community children's centers participating in each session of the collective art therapy program? Second, what is the change in empathy of children participating in the group art therapy program? This study was a case study using the participatory observation method, a qualitative research method, and conducted a group art therapy program for 5th to 6th graders in elementary school who are using a community children's center in C, Chungcheongbuk-do. In order to find out the changes in program participants, the program's empathy scale test, Kinetic house-tree-person drawing test, and Kinetic school drawing test were conducted, and the test results were compared. The research results according to each research problem are as follows. First, participating children were able to access new art media, stimulate various senses, and relieve their emotions through group art therapy program activities. When constructing a collective art therapy program, a step-by-step approach divided into three stages: the initial stage, the middle stage, and the final stage could effectively affect children's participation experience. Second, the overall empathy of children who participated in the program improved. When comparing the average of each sub-element of the empathy test, it can be seen that empathy improves as the score rises in 'sympathetic interest' and 'sympathetic awakening', which are sub-element of 'imagining' and 'emotional empathy'. Through this study, it was confirmed that the collective art therapy program had a positive effect on the improvement of participation experience and empathy of senior elementary school students. Therefore, it is expected that various programs to promote empathy incorporating art therapy will be used in various institutions used by children. It is hoped that collective art therapy programs will continue to be developed and activated in the field to improve children's empathy.
