어머니의 언어유형이 초등학생의 언어창의성에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

어머니의 언어유형은 명령지향형, 지위지향형, 인간관계지향형으로 구분되며, 아동의 창의성과 관련이 있는 것으로 여겨진다. 본 연구의 목적은 어머니의 언어유형에 따라 초등학생의 언어창의성에 차이가 있는 지를 확인하는 것이다. 부산광역시에 소재하는 3 개 학교의 6학년 학생 100명이 본 연구에 참여하였다. 어머니의 언어유형을 파악하기 위해 Gurnperz(1973) 에 의해 개발되어 한국어로 번역된 것을 이용하였으며, 초등학생의 언어창의성을 측정하기 위해서는 ITCT 언어창의성 검사 B 형을 사용하였다 ANOVA분석 결과에 따르면, 어머니의 언어유형은 초등학생의 언어창의성에 영향을 주지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과는 어머니의 언어유형은 유아의 창의성에 영향을 준다는 기존의 연구와 상반되는 것이다. 그 이유에 대해 다양한 관점에서 논의되었다 본 연구의 결과와 기존 연구의 결과를 종합하여 내린 결론은 어머니의 언어유형은 유아들의 창의성에 중요한 역할을 수행하지만, 초등학생이 되면 더 이상 영향을 주지 않는다는 것이다.

영문 초록

The maternal speech style constructs in three sub-styles: imperative, personoriented, and status-oriented. This styles are significantly related to children's creativity. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of maternal speech style on verbal creativity of elementary students. The subjects are 100 6th grade students who are attending three public elementary schools located in Busan. The instruments are a questionnaire on the speech style of the mothers which developed by Gumperz(1973) and a B-type Torrance Test of Creative Thinking-Verbal. The collected data were analyzed using one way ANOVA The results of this study show that there were no statistically significant effects of maternal speech style on elementary students's verbal creativity. These results are not consistent with the previous research results. We provide several reasons to explain the inconsistency and conclude that maternal speech style can affect on infants' but not elementary students' verbal creativity.
