국문 초록

본 연구는 장애인 자녀를 둔 어머니들의 동료상담 경험과 가족탄력성이 외상 후 성장에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 검증하고자 하였다. 전국 6개 지역의 장애인부모 동료상담사 양성과정 이수자와 그들로부터 동료상담을 받은 경험이 있는 장애인 어머니 198명을 대상으로 하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 4회 이상의 동료상담을 받은 집단이 상담 경험이 없거나 3회 이하로 받은 집단보다 가족탄력성과 외상 후 성장 경험 점수가 유의하게 높았다. 둘째, 가족탄력성은 동료상담 경험과 외상 후 성장 모두와 유의한 정적 상관이 있었으며, 셋째, 연령과 종교 유무를 통제하고 위계적 회귀분석을 수행한 결과 동료상담 경험 없음에 비해 4회 이상 상담을 받은 경우가 외상 후 성장에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 결과는 자녀의 장애 판정과 양육으로 고통받는 어머니들의 정서적 지원을 위하여 장애인 가족을 위한 동료상담 프로그램과 가족탄력성 증진 프로그램을 운영하는 것이 효과적이라는 점을 밝혔다는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of peer counseling experience and family resilience on post-traumatic growth. The participants of the study was 198 mothers of children with disabilities who completed the training course of peer counselors for parents with disabilities in six regions across the South Korea or who had received peer counseling from them. The major findings were as follows: First, the group receiving 4 or more peer counseling sessions showed significantly higher level of family resilience and the experience of post-traumatic growth than the group receiving 3 times or less counseling sessions. Second, family resilience showed a significant positive correlation with peer counseling experience and post-traumatic growth. Third, as a result of hierarchical regression analysis after controlling age and religion, the experience of peer counseling had a significant effect on post-traumatic growth when counseling was received more than four times compared to no experience. These results are significant in that it is effective to operate a peer counseling program and a family resilience promotion program for families of children with disabilities for the emotional support of mothers who suffer from the disability judgment and raising of their children.
