영문 초록

Based on Lee’s theory of love, the present study examined whether single adult males’ sexism and gender role conflict predicted their attitudes toward six love styles (Eros, Ludus, Storge, Mania, Pragma, Agape). Data were analyzed using hierarchical regression analyses. Participants were 166 university students( 48 undergraduate and 118 graduate) majoring in science or engineering, aged between 18 and 35 years (M = 24.75, SD = 3.46). To examine the unique predictive abilities of sexism and male gender role conflict, factors like depressive symptoms, age, and current relationship status were considered. The results indicated that sexism predicted Pragma. Furthermore, the relationship between sexism and Pragma was partially mediated by gender role conflict. Male gender role conflict was also a significant predictor for Ludus, Mania, and Pragma. Results were discussed regarding the harmful effects of sexism and male gender role conflict.
