국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 청소년기에 또래관계 외상을 경험한 음악치료사가 자신의 외상을 재탐색하고 회복하는 과정에 대해 탐구하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 연구자의 관계적 어려움과 회복과정을 자문화기술지를 통해 분석하고 기술하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 나는 어린 시절 부모에게 감정과 표현을 제한받으며 자라왔고, 어린 시절 부모로부터의 양육 경험은 이후 나의 성격뿐만 아니라 또래관계를 형성하는 데 영향을 주었음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 나는 또래관계 외상을 경험하게 되었고, 외상 이후 그로 인한 관계적 어려움을 겪었으나 그 외상을 마주하고 회복하고자 하였다. 셋째, 나는 또래관계 외상 회복과정을 통한 개인적·전문적 성장에 대해 성찰하였다. 회복과정을 통해 한 개인으로서 외면하고 있던 나의 감정을 마주하고 성찰하며 나를 찾아갈 수 있게 되었다. 또한 음악치료사로서 내담자를 있는 그대로 수용할 수 있게 되었고, 내담자와 나를 분리할 수 있게 되었다. 이 연구의 결과는 한 개인의 자기성찰과 회복과정을 통해 전문적인 음악치료사로서 발달해나가는 구체적이고 생생한 정보를 제공하며, 내담자들에게 관계외상 회복과정을 보다 실체적으로 안내하는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to explore a music therapist’s peer relationship trauma in-depth and look into her recovering process from the trauma using an arts-based auto-ethnographical research method. The study results were as follows: First, It was found that the parenting environment that encouraged the suppression of emotions and self-expression hugely affected the researcher’s passive way of establishing and maintaining her peer relationships. Second, Even though the researcher has experienced intensive difficulties in peer relationships after the traumatic relationship experiences with her close friends during the adolescent period, the recovering process could have begun as she started to confront and explore the trauma more in-depth. Third, the recovering process facilitated the researcher’s personal and professional growth as it enabled her to finally face emotions that have been oppressed and avoided for a long time. The process also helped the researcher accept her clients as who they are and establish more trusting client-therapist relationships. The results of this study provide practical information on how a therapist’s self-explore of one’s relationship trauma can benefit personal and professional growth.
