대학의 성인학습자 대상 의사소통교육체제 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 국내 각 대학의 성인학습자 대상 의사소통교육의 현황과 교수자 및 행정 담당자의 인식을 분석하여, 성인학습자에게 적합한 의사소통 교육 방법과 교수학습 전략을 구축하기 위한 자료를 확보하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 <대학의 평생교육체제 지원 사업> 참여 대학이 운영하고 있는 의사소통교육 현황에 대한 기초설문조사와 교수자, 행정 담당자를 대상으로 인터뷰를 실시하여 각 대학의 성인학습자 대상 의사소통교육 운영 현황 및 담당자 인식을 분석하였다. 설문조사결과에 따르면 각 대학의 성인학습자 대상 의사소통교육은 대부분 학령기 학습자 대상으로 운영되는 의사소통교육체제를 준용하고 있었다. 일부 대학에서만 의사소통 교과목을 미래융합대학 상황에 맞춰 유연하게 운용하고 있었다. 각 대학의 의사소통교육 운영 현황에 대한 심층 인터뷰 결과에 따르면, 현재 성인학습자 의사소통교육은 학부 교육과정과의 차별화 미흡과 특성화 부족으로 요약된다. 의사소통 역량 향상을 위한 성인학습자 대상의 별도 지원체계 역시 미흡하였다. 인터뷰 참여자들은 성인학습자들의 특성을 고려하지 않은 학사 운영 등으로 학습자들의 실제 요구에 부합되지 않는 형태로 의사소통교육이 운영되고 있으며 성인학습자 맞춤형 커리큘럼 및 콘텐츠가 시급히 개발되어야 한다고 인식하고 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 성인학습자 대상 의사소통교육의 내실화를 위해 성인학습자 요구 맞춤형 운영이 가능한 트랙제 교육과정과 성인학습자의 수준 및 경험을 고려한 교육 내용과 자료 개발이 필요하며 이를 위해서는 성인학습자의 의사소통교육을 전담하는 전임교원의 확보가 핵심적인 과제라는 것을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the current status of communication education for adult learners at each university in Korea and the perceptions of teachers and administrators, and to secure data for establishing communication education methods and teaching and learning strategies suitable for adult learners.. The researchers conducted a basic survey on the status of communication education operated by universities participating in the in Korea and conducted interviews with professors and administrators. The current status of communication education for adult learners at each university and the perception of the person in charge were analyzed. According to the survey results, most of the communication education for adult learners of each university applied the communication education system operated for school-age learners mutatis mutandis. According to an in-depth interview on the current status of communication education operation at each university, communication education for adult learners was insufficiently differentiated from the undergraduate curriculum and lacked specialization. In addition, a separate support system for adult learners to improve communication competency is insufficient. Participants recognized that communication education was being operated in a form that did not meet the actual needs of learners due to academic operation that did not take into account the characteristics of adult learners, and that curriculum and contents customized for adult learners should be developed urgently. Therefore, in this study, it is argued that, in order to substantiate communication education for adult learners, it is urgently necessary to develop a track-based curriculum that can be operated tailored to the needs of adult learners, and educational contents and materials that consider the level and experience of adult learners. In addition, for this purpose, each university proposes as a core task to secure a full-time faculty in charge of communication education for adult learners.
