청년층의 구직준비도 유형 분류와 주요 특성 - 청년구직활동지원금 참여자를 중심으로 -

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 2020년 정부의 청년구직활동지원금 제도에 참여한 청년들을 대상으로 그들의 구직준비도 수준에 따른 잠재유형을 분류하고, 개인특성과의 관계를 분석하는 것이었다. 청년구직활동지원금 참여자 대상의 구직준비도 검사가 시행된 2020년 5월부터 9월까지의 자료와 별도의 사전검사 결과를 병행한 35,835명의 자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 분석결과, 구직준비도 하위척도 수준에 따라 청년 구직자는 4개의 유형(잠재집단)으로 분류가 가능했다. 이 중 Class1과 Class2는 구직준비도가 대체로 높은 유형이었으나, Class2는 Class1에 비해 구직태도의 유연성과 직업탐색행동이 상대적으로 낮았다. Class3과 Class4는 구직준비도가 전반적으로 낮은 유형이었으나, Class4는 Class3에 비해 구직목표설정이 상대적으로 낮았다. 개인특성에 따라 4개 집단에 속할 가능성에 차이가 있었다. 여성은 남성에 비해 구직준비도가 낮은 유형(Class3, Class4)에 속할 가능성이 높았다. 대학원 졸업자는 고졸 이하에 비해 구직준비도가 높은 유형(Class1)에 속할 확률이 높았다. 대기업과 교육기관, 창업을 희망하는 청년 구직자의 경우, 중소기업 희망 청년구직자에 비해 대체로 구직준비도가 높은 유형(Class2, Class1)에 속할 확률이 높았다. 구직활동 시간이 많을수록 구직준비도가 높은 유형(Class2, Class1)에 속할 확률이 높은 반면, 아르바이트 경험이 있는 청년 구직자는 구직준비도가 낮은 유형(Class3, Class4)에 속할 확률이 높았다. 위와 같은 분석결과를 토대로 이 연구는 다음의 제언을 제시하였다. 첫째, 구직준비도에 따라 맞춤형 취업지원 프로그램의 연계 제공이 필요하다. 둘째, 청년들의 경제적 취약성을 완화할 지속적인 소득 지원이 필요하다. 마지막으로 상대적으로 구직준비 수준이 낮은 청년여성에 대한 별도의 지원제도 마련이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to Classify latent Classes according to their level of job preparation and to analyze their relationship with individual characteristics for young people who participated in the government s the Youth Job-Seeking Activity Subsidies in 2020. 35,835 youth s data from May to September 2020, when the job preparation test was conducted for participants in the Youth Job-Seeking Activity Subsidies, and separate preliminary test results, were used for analysis. According to the analysis, it was possible to Classify into four potential groups according to the sub-scale level of job preparation among young people. Of these, Class1 and Class2 were generally highly prepared to find jobs, but Class2 had relatively low flexibility in job search and job search activity compared to Class1. Class3 and Class4 were generally low in job preparation, but Class4 had relatively low job search goals compared to Class3. There was a difference in the possibility of belonging to four groups depending on the individual characteristics of young people. Women were more likely to belong to the types(Class3, Class4) with lower job preparation than men. Graduate graduates were more likely to belong to the type(Class1) with higher job preparation than those with high school graduates. In the case of young job seekers who wanted to find jobs at large companies or educational institutions or young job seekers who wanted to start up a business, they were more likely to belong to the types(Class2, Class1) with higher job preparation than those who wanted to find small and medium-sized companies. The more time they had for job search, the more likely they were to be in the types(Class2, Class1) with higher job preparation, while young job seekers with part-time job experience were more likely to be in the types(Class3, Class4) with lower job preparation. Based on the above analysis results, this study presented the following suggestions. First, it is necessary to provide the customized job support programs according to the type of job preparation. Second, continuous income support program is needed to alleviate the economic vulnerability of young people. Third, a separate policy should be supported to the young woman with relatively low job preparation level.
