국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 중학교 남학생들이 장애학생에 대한 또래도우미 활동을 통해 어떤 경험을 하였고, 또래도우미 활동이 어떤 의미가 있는지에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법: 연구참여자로 장애학생에 대한 또래도우미 활동 경험이 있는 중학교 3학년 남학생 10명이 참여하였으며, 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하고, 면담 자료를 질적으로 분석하였다. 연구결과: 비장애학생이 장애학생을 위한 또래도우미 활동에 참여하게 된 동기는 장애학생에 대한 불쌍한 마음이나 친구로서 도움을 주고자하는 내적 동기와 보상에 대한 기대와 같은 외적 동기가 주를 이루었다. 비장애학생은 또래도우미 활동을 통해 감사하는 마음을 가지게 되었고, 자존감을 회복하고 타인을 이해하며 돕는 성숙한 인격을 가질 수 있게 되었다고 하였다. 또한 더불어 사는 책임 있는 사회의 일원으로서 또래도우미 경험이 미래의 직업을 고려하는 데에도 영향을 미치게 되었다고 하였다. 논의 및 결론: 장애학생에 대한 또래도우미 활동이 보다 긍정적인 결과를 갖기 위해서는 또래도우미의 선발부터 실행까지의 전반적인 운영과 관련하여 체계적인 시스템을 구축하는 것이 필요하다.

영문 초록

Purpose: In this study, middle school students tried to find out what kind of experience they had through the activities of peer helpers and what the meaning of the peer helper activities was. Method: 10 male middle school students participated as research participants, and the study collected and analyzed interview data. Results: As the results of the study, the motivation for participating in the activities was mainly internal motivation to help as a poor heart or friend, and external motivation such as expectation of rewards. The attitudes of the students were changed after the activities as helpers. The students became to have a mature personality that restores gratitude and self-esteem, understands others, and had a mature work ethic as a responsible member of a society. Conclusion: Most of all, it is necessary to have a support system for a better results of management of peer helpers for students with disabilities.
