중등 특수교사 표시과목 현황 및 중등 특수교사 자격체제에 대한 특수교사의 인식*

국문 초록

우리나라 중등 특수교사 자격체제 운영 현황과 개선방안을 도출하기 위하여 특수학급 교사, 특수학교 교사, 학교관리자 1,016명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 응답자의 중등 특수교사 표시과목은 총 37개로 나타났으며, 국어, 영어, 체육, 일반사회 순으로 많았다. 37개의 표시과목 중 기본 교육과정 교과에 해당하는 표시과목은 7개로 국어, 수학, 체육, 과학, 미술, 음악, 직업이 있었으며, 응답자 중 47%는 기본 교육과정교과가 아닌 기타 과목을 표시과목으로 소지하고 있었다. 둘째, 중등 특수교사의 교과교육 역량에서 중요도가 높다고 인식하는 역량은 학생의 특성에 따른 교육과정 재구성 능력이었고, 낮다고 인식하는 역량은 교과내용에 대한 전문지식으로 나타나, 교과내용학보다는 교과교육학 관련 역량을 중요하게 여기고 있었다. 셋째, 표시과목 자격취득을 위한 38학점 운영 방안에 대해서는 38학점 모두를 특수교육과에서 이수하거나 일부 학점을 기본 교육과정 관련 학점으로 이수하자는 의견이 많았다. 넷째, 중등 특수교사 자격 구분에 대해서는 현행처럼 장애유형 구분 없이 유치원, 초등, 중등의 학교과정별 자격 구분 의견이 가장 많았고, 시각장애와 청각장애학생 지도교사를 양성하기 위해서 학부 또는 대학원 과정의 양성과정이 필요하다는 의견이 제기되었다. 이 연구는 중등 특수교사 자격체제 개선을 위한 현장의 요구를 바탕으로 개선방안을 제안하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted on 1,016 self-contained classroom teachers, special school teachers, and school administrators in order to derive the current state and improvement plans of the operation of the qualification for secondary special education teachers in Korea. The results of the study are as follows. First, the number of qualification subjects of the respondents was 37 in total, followed by Korean, English, physical education, and social studies. Of the 37 subjects, seven were subjects of the basic curriculum, and there were Korean language, math, physical education, science, art, music, and occupation. Of the respondents, 47% had qualification subjects which is not of basic curriculum subjects. Second, Secondary special education teachers considered subject teaching method more important than subject content. Third, regarding the management plan of 38 credits for obtaining qualifications, all 38 credits should be completed at the department of special education or some credits should be completed as credits related to the basic curriculum. Fourth, regarding the classification of secondary special education teacher qualifications, the opinions on qualification classification by school courses such as kindergarten, elementary, and middle school were the most regardless of disability type, as in the current situation. This study is significant in that it proposed an improvement plan based on the demands of the educational field for secondary special education teachers.
