국문 초록

본 연구는 규칙 만들기와 규칙 지키기 활동에 참여한 유아의 경험과 그 의미를 발견하는 것을 목적으로하였다. 구름반의 일과 중 유아의 규칙 만들기와 규칙 지키기 활동을 참여관찰하여 녹화 및 녹음자료, 현장관찰기록, 면담자료, 연구자 저널을 수집, 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 참여 유아들은 주체로서 ‘나’를 세우기위해 서로 의견을 나누며 자율적으로 규칙을 만들고 변형하며 공동체 교실에서 ‘우리’와 서로 배려하고협력하는 문화를 만들어가는 경험을 하였다. 둘째, 규칙 만들기와 규칙 지키기 활동에서 유아 경험은 상호존중을 기반으로 자기규제로 이끄는 힘을 발휘하며, 자기 삶의 주인이 되고, 사회적 책임감으로까지 확대되는데 의미가 있다. 본 연구는 유아가 일상에서의 요구와 문제를 해결해나가는 주체로서 다른 사람의 관점을이해하고 자율적으로 규칙을 생성⋅변형하여 협력하는 충분한 역량을 가진 존재임을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore the experiences of young children who participated in rule-making activities, as well as the meaning the experiences. During the Cloud class’s daily activities, data from video recordings, researchers’ field observations, interviews with the young children, and researchers’ journals were collected and analyzed for the study. The results of the study showed that young children who participated in rule-making activities tried to build up “themselves” as subjects by sharing their opinions and autonomously changing rules. They also created a culture of caring and cooperating with each other in community classrooms. Additionally, young children who experienced these rule-making and rule-keeping activities were able to show self-regulation based on mutual respect, as well as an improved ability to become the owners of their lives and to take responsibility for themselves. These abilities were also expanded to an overall sense of social responsibility. This study showed that young children can become the main agents in solving their own problems and can be sufficiently capable of understanding others’ perspectives and collaborating autonomously as they create and transform rules in their daily lives.
