국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 부모의 부부갈등이 자녀의 사회적 유능감에 미치는 영향과 그에 대한 가족 상호작용의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 육아정책연구소(KICCE)의 한국아동패널연구(PSKC) 자료중 7차 년도(2014) 조사에 응답한 1464명의 부모와 만 6세 유아들의 응답 데이터를 대상으로 기술통계분석, 상관분석, 신뢰도 분석, 구조모형 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 부부갈등과가족 상호작용, 유아의 사회적 유능감 간에는 부적 상관이 나타났으며, 가족 상호작용과 유아의 사회적유능감 간에는 정적 상관이 나타났다. 둘째, 부모의 부부갈등과 유아의 사회적 유능감의 관계에서 가족상호작용은 완전 매개변인으로 작용하였다. 본 연구는 부부갈등이 유아의 사회적 유능감에 미치는 직⋅간접적 효과를 분석하고, 가족 상호작용의 매개효과를 밝힘으로써 가정과 유아교육현장에서 유아의 사회적 유능감을 증진시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하는데 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of parents’ marital conflicts on their young children’s sense of social competence as well as the mediating effect of family interaction specifically in relation to the sense of social competence. Data were collected from the responses of 1464 parents and 6-year-old children who participated in the 7th year (2014) survey from the Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC) of the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE). The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, reliability analysis, and structural model analysis. The results of the data analysis showed that there was a negative correlation between parents’ marital conflict and family interaction, and between parents’ marital conflicts and young children’s social competence, whereas there was a positive correlation between family interaction and social competence. Additionally, it was found that in the relationship between parents’ marital conflicts and children’s social competence, family interaction functioned as a complete mediator. Overall, this study showed the direct and indirect effects of marital conflicts on young children’s social competence, and implicated in finding ways to improve young children’s social competence both in the home and in the early childhood education field by clarifying the mediating effect of family interaction.
