국문 초록

농업에 대하여 올바르게 이해하고 긍정적인 태도를 갖는 것은 매우 중요하며, 따라서 농업문해는 우리나라에서 이슈가 되어 왔다. 그러나 농업문해를 측정한 일은 몇 번에 그쳤으며, 이도 10여년 전에 수행되었다. 따라서 이 연구의 목적은 우리나라 영남지역 초․중등교사의 농업, 식품, 환경 등에 대한 지식 및 태도를 측정하는데 있었다. 또한 이 연구는 농업에 대해 보다 나은 지식과 긍정적인 태도를 예측하는 특정 인적 변인을 찾기 위해 수행하였다. 이 연구에서는 총 236명의 영남지역 초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교 교사들이 참여하였다. 이 연구에서 표본은 236명의 영남지역 초등 및 중등학교 교사들이었다. 이 연구에서 사용된 조사도구 문항을 명료화하기 위하여 사전조사가 이루어졌다. 이 연구에서는 제시된 연구문제를 해결하기 위하여 기술통계, t-test, 그리고 일원변량분석(ANOVA)을 수행하였다. 이 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 한 결론은 다음과 같다: 1. 농업에 관한 교육 즉, 교양농업교육은 모든 공교육 수준에서 보다 강화되고 확대되어야 한다; 2. 농업에 관한 교육과 경험을 계획할 때에는 농업의 모든 영역을 포함하도록 하여야 학생들로 하여금 농업에 대한 깊은 이해와 긍정적인 태도를 가질 수 있도록 도울 수 있다.

영문 초록

Understanding agriculture appropriately and having positive attitude toward agriculture is very important, so the agricultural literacy has become an issue in Korea. Assessing agricultural literacy, however, has been done in only few time and decade ago. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to assess the knowledge of and attitude toward issues related to agriculture, food, and the environment of elementary and secondary school teachers in Young-nam area. The sample for this study consisted of 236 teachers in elementary, middle, and high school in the Young-nam area. A pilot test was conducted to clarify the items of the data collection instruments. Descriptive statistics, a t-test, and an ANOVA with an a priori alpha level of .05 were utilized to answer research questions. Based on the results of the study, conclusions of the study were as follows: 1. the education about agriculture, general agricultural education, should be reinforced and expanded in every level of public school education system.; 2. when design the education on agricultural knowledge and experience, it should include all aspects of agriculture so that it helps students possess propound understanding of agriculture and get more positive attitude toward agriculture.
