국문 초록

본 연구는 노인의 사회적 관계와 우울 간의 상관관계를 실증하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 노인일자리 및 사회활동지원사업 참여 경험의 다양한 측면에서 사회적 관계와 우울 정도의 차이를 분석하여 사업의 효과를 제고할 수 있는 정책 방향성을 모색한 것이다. 연구를 위해 강남구 내 거주하는 노인 310명의 자료를 수집하여 기술통계 및 상관관계 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 노인일자리 사업에 참여하면서, 사업참여 기간이 길수록, 사업참여유형에서는 공익형, 사회서비스형 보다 민간형(시장형) 참여자집단의 사회적 관계 수준이 높고, 우울 정도가 낮았다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구는 첫째, 노인일자리 사업의 사회적 관계 개선과 우울감 완화 기능을 강화하기 위한 교육 커리큘럼 재정비 및 수행기관 지원, 둘째, 노인의 정서적 지지라는 주요 사업 목적에 맞춰 기초생활보장수급자까지 대상 확대, 셋째, 참여자의 욕구에 기반한 노인일자리 사업유형 개발 및 시장형 사업단 활성화 등의 정책 방향성을 제시해 보았다.

영문 초록

The Purpose of this study is to explore the correlation between senior citizens’ social relationships and depression empirically, and to analyze the level of the participants’ social relationships and depression by type of participation experience in the Elderly Employment Program in an effort to investigate policy direction to enhance the effectiveness of the Program. This study targets were elderly living in Gangnam-gu district. The survey collected data from 310 participants, which was used for technical statistics and correlation analysis. As the result of analysis, attending the program, longer participation period and working in the private sector make the elderly participants have the higher level of social relationships and lower depression. Based on these results, the policy directions that this study suggested were as follows: First, the government needs to change education curriculum for the participants and support program implement organizations in order to strengthen the function that improve the participants’ social relationships and alleviate depression of them. Second, the program’s target should be expanded to the elderly in absolute poverty for the program’s major purpose that supports elderly emotionally. Finally, the new type of the program based on the participants’ desire needs to be developed and the private sector should be vitalized.
