국문 초록

연구목적 : 본 연구는 독거노인의 심리사회적 의존성이 자아통합감에 미치는 영향에서 사회활동 참여의 매개 효과를 파악해봄으로써 노년기의 심리적 안녕을 위한 사회복지개입에 대한 기초자료를 제시하고자 한다. 연구방법 : 본 연구는 B시에 거주하면서 사회복지서비스를 이용하고 있는 65세 이상의 독거노인들을 대상으로 임의 표집하여 2017년 7월에서 8월 사이에 설문조사를 시행하였다. 최종 200부를 SPSS로 분석하였으며, 주요 통계기법으로 t검증과 일원배치 분산분석, 매개효과의 분석은 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 매개효과 검증단계(Baron & Kenny, 1986)를 적용하였고, 이후 Sobel test를 실시하였다. 연구결과 : 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 집단 간 차이를 검증한 결과, 심리사회적 의존정도는 자기 소유의 집이 없는 경우, 만성질환이 있는 경우에 높게 나타났다. 사회활동 참여에서는 연령이 낮고, 종교가 있으며, 월소득이 높고, 자기 소유의 집이 있는 노인집단이 높게 나타났다. 자아통합감은 월소득이 높고, 자기 소유의 집이 있고, 독거기간이 긴 집단에서 높게 나타났다. 2. 독거노인의 심리사회적 의존정도가 낮을수록 사회활동 참여가 높았으며, 자아통합감도 높게 나타났다. 또한 심리사회적 의존이 자아통합감에 미치는 영향에서 사회활동 참여는 부분 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 : 우리사회에서 돌봄 지지기반이 약한 사회적 환경에 속한 독거노인에게 심리사회적 의존을 줄이고, 자아통합감을 높이기 위한 사회복지개입 방안으로서 사회활동 참여의 매개효과에 대해 검증하였다. 이에 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 다양한 사회복지적 개입 방안을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Objective : The purpose of this study is to present basic data related to social welfare intervention for psychological well-being of old age by analyzing mediation effect of participation in social activities in the influence of psychosocial dependency of the elderly living alone on their ego integrity. Methods : After randomly sampling the elderly living alone aged 65 years or older who were in the care of social welfare services residing in City B, a survey was conducted between July and August, 2017. A total of 200 copies of the questionnaire collected from the respondents were analyzed using SPSS. With major statistical techniques, t-test and one-way analysis of variance were performed, and the basic steps for mediation testing (Baron & Kenny, 1986) through hierarchical regression analysis was applied to the analysis of mediation effect, followed by the Sobel test. Results : The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, as a result of analyzing the differences between groups, it was found that the level of psychosocial dependence was high among those who owned no house and had chronic illness; the level of participation in social activities was high among those who were younger, had religion, had a high monthly income on average, and owned their house; and the level of ego integrity was high among those who had a high monthly income on average, owned their house, and lived alone for a longer time. Second, the lower the level of psychosocial dependence, the higher the level of participation in social activities and ego-integrity. In addition, participation in social activities was revealed to have a partial mediation effect in the influence of psychosocial dependence on ego integrity. Conclusion : The mediation effect of participation in social activities, as a part of social welfare intervention intended to encourage the elderly living alone who belong to social environment with a weak foundation of care and support to reduce psychosocial dependence and enhance ego integrity, has been verified in this study. Therefore, based on the above study results, various methods for social welfare intervention are proposed.
