자녀 사회화에서 부(父)의 역할

국문 초록

조부모의 재력, 모의 정보력, 부(父)의 무관심이 아이의 능력을 만든다는 주장이 있다. 정말 부(父)는 직장에만 매진하면서 자녀에게 무관심한 것이 자녀의 성장에 기여하는가? 본 연구의 목적은 가족 구성원 일부의 관계보다는 구성원 전체 및 구성원 간의 상호의존성을 전제로 가족구조적 측면에서 부(父)의 일·가정 갈등이 가족구조 형태 및 아동의 문제행동과의 관련성에 대해 조사하고 이를 통해 부(父)가 자녀의 사회화에 미치는 역할에 대해 고찰하는 것이다. 본 연구는 한국아동패널에서 표본 아동들이 초등학교에 2학년에 재학 중인 2016년 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구는 자녀의 내재화 및 외현화 문제행동에 대한 가족구조의 사회자본 측면에서 접근하면서 상호의존적 관계에 있는 부(父), 모, 자녀의 역동적인 측면을 포착하기 위해 Simmel의 삼자관계 이론을 적용하였다. 연구결과를 보면, 첫째, 초등학생 부모와 자녀를 대상으로 가족구성원 간 유대의 강도를 기준으로 여덟 가지 유형의 가족구조를 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 부(父)의 일-가정 양립의 갈등은 가족구성간의 유대의 정도가 약한 다섯 가지 유형의 가족구조와 관련성이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 부(父)의 일-가정 갈등은 자녀의 문제행동에 대한 직접적으로 혹은 유대가 약한 가족구조를 매개로 하여 간접적으로 관련성이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 부(父)는 점점 더 가족구조 내에서 자녀의 발달에 적극적인 영향을 끼칠 수 있는 중요한 존재가 되어가고 있으며 본 연구는 그러한 점에서 부(父)의 일-가정 갈등을 고찰할 필요성에 대해서 제기하고 있다.

영문 초록

It is argued that the grandparents wealth, the mother s intelligence, and the father s indifference make the child s ability. Is it really good for your children that fathers are only devoted to their jobs and fathers are indifferent to them? The purpose of this study is to presuppose interdependence between all members and members rather than the relationship of some members of the family and investigate the relationships between the work-family conflict of the father and the family structure and their influence on the child s problem behavior through the role of the father in the socialization of the child. This study analyzed the data of 2016 when the sample children were enrolled in the second year of elementary school in the Korean Children s Panel. This study applied the triad theory of Simmel to capture the dynamic aspects of fathers, mothers, and children in interdependent relationships while approaching the social capital aspect of the family structure for the child s internalization and externalization problem behavior. As a result of the study, first, eight types of family structures were identified based on the strength of ties between family members for parents and children of elementary school students. Second, it was confirmed that the conflict of father’s work-family is related to six types of family structure, where the degree of bond between family members is weak. Third, it was confirmed that the work-family conflict of the father is directly related to the child s problem behavior or indirectly through the family structure with weak ties. Fathers are increasingly becoming important entities within the family structure that can actively influence the development of their children. In this regard, this study raises the need to consider the father s work-family conflict.
