국문 초록

본 연구는 知行合一과 도덕교육의 관계를 검토하기 위한 것이다. 비트겐슈타인의 「논고」의 선언적 주장은 윤리학의 일차적 관심사를 새로운 시각에서 검토할 가능성을 예고한다. 비트겐슈타인이 존경심을 표명하는 윤리학은 말할 수 없는 세계에 관한 객관적 기술이 아니라 언어의 한계 너머에 있는 실재와 자신의 존재를 연결시킴으로써 세계의 한계를 초월하려는 실존적 주체의 소망과 결단이 담겨있는 신앙고백으로서의 윤리학을 뜻한다. 소크라테스와 왕양명이 주장한 지행합일은 자신이 추구하고자 하는 최선의 것으로서의 덕, 또는 그것을 갖춘 최선의 존재로서의 자신의 모습을 당사자적으로 탐구하고 그것이 요구하는 삶을 살아가는 실존적 주체의 상이한 측면 또는 존재방식을 동시에 기술하는 개념이다. 지식과 행위는 실재의 존재를 자신의 인식과 행위로 가시화하고 확립하는 실존적 주체의 존재양상을 상이한 측면에서 기술하는 개념으로서 양자는 개념상 구분될 뿐 사실상 분리되지 않는다. 소크라테스와 왕양명의 지행합일은 도덕교육을 중층구조의 관점보다 오히려 메타프락시스적 관점에서 설명할 가능성을 열어준다. 메타프락시스적 관점에서 보면, 도덕교육의 궁극적 목적으로서의 지행합일은 덕을 추구하는 지식과 행위 이전에 먼저 주어지는 것이 아니라 그것을 추구하는 지식과 행위 안에서 드러나고 확립된다. 기독교 철학이 제시하고 있는 인간의 이념으로서의 ‘육화 예수’의 존재는 메타프락시스적 관점에 비추어 지행합일의 의미를 새롭게 논의하는데 중요한 빛을 제공한다.

영문 초록

The present study is an attempt to interprete the relation between the theory of ‘Unity of Knowledge and Action’( 知行合一) and moral education. Wittgenstein s last statement pronounced in his Tractatus have made an allusion to the possibility of discussing the main concern of ethics in a new light. Ethics, for which Wittgenstein respects deeply, is not a significant description of the absolute world or value about which one cannot speak, but a confession of faith which embodies the hope and decision of existential person who desires to transcend the limit of language and to connect his existence with Reality. The concept of Unity of Knowledge and Action , which is declared by Socrates and Wang Yang-ming(王陽明), explains two diferrent aspects of existenial person (or his way of life) mutually, who inquires personally into the virtue(or arete) which is the utmost of what a man can be and lives a life for which it is required. Knowldge and action are two concepts explaining two different aspects of one existential person(or mode of existence) who embodies and establishes the existence of Reality in his knowledge and action. Knowlege and action are distinguised conceptually, not separated factually. Socrates and Wang Yang-ming s conceptions of ‘Unity of Knowledge and Action’ open the way to lead up into explaining moral education in view of metapraxis rather than two-fold structure theory. Accordig to metapraxis, ‘Unity of Knowledge and Action’ as an ultimate aim(or virtue) of moral education is not temporally prior to the knowledge and action of existenial person (or agent ), but embodied and established in and with his knowledge and action reciprocally. The existence of Jesus incarnated as the christian idea of man presents a significant illumination to the reinterpretation of unity of knowledge and action in the light of metapraxis.
