아이즈너의 예술적 교육과정 모형에 대한 비판적 고찰

국문 초록

아이즈너는 행동목표에 대한 대안으로 문제해결목표와 표현목표를 내세우고 있다. 이들 두 가지 대안적 교육목표는 타일러의 종합적 교육과정 모형에 대한 두 가지 대안적인 교육과정 개발 모형을 탄생시키고 있지만, 그것은 최종적으로 한 가지 교육과정 모형으로 압축된다. 즉, 아이즈너는 교육목표의 확인, 교육내용의 선정 및 조직, 수업 중에서 어떤 것을 출발점으로 삼아도 무방하다는 입장을 내세우면서 그러한 세 가지 요소의 순환으로 자신의 교육과정 모형을 구축하고 있다. 그의 이러한 순환적 교육과정 모형이 예술적 교육과정 모형이라고 불리는 것은 그것이 교육과정 개발자의 상상력 혹은 감식안에 기반을 두고 있기 때문이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그는 교육적 상상력 혹은 감식안이 어떤 성격의 마음인가를 분명하게 밝히고 있지 않다. 그의 예술적 교육과정 모형이 온전한 형태를 띠기 위해서는 이 부분에 대한 이론적 보완이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify the nature and limitations of artistic model for curriculum development designed by E. W. Eisner in comparison with Tyler s idea for it. As an alternative to the behavior objectives, Eisner suggested a problem-solving objectives and an expressive objectives. These two alternative objectives created two alternative models for curriculum development contrasting with a technical and engineering curriculum model made by R. Tyler, but these are eventually condensed into one model. Eisner actually designed just one model for curriculum development through the circulation of three elements called ‘confirmation of educational objectives’, ‘selection and organization of educational contents’, and ‘instruction’ asserting that it is possible to use any of the three elements as a starting point. His circular model for curriculum development is called the artistic model, because it is based on the imagination or connoisseurship of curriculum developers. Nevertheless, he does not clearly define what the educational imagination or connoisseurship is. In order for his artistic model for it to take its full form, a theoretical complement to this context is needed.
