교과의 내면화의 언어학적 측면

국문 초록

이 글은 브루너의 내러티브 이론에 시사되어 있는 교과의 내면화의 특정한 측면을 밝히기 위한 것이다. 브루너는 그 당시 교육의 문제를 해결할 대안으로 내용의 측면에서 중간언어를 가르칠 것이 아니라 지식의 구조를 가르칠 것을 제안하였고, 그 후 문화를 가르칠 것을 제안한다. 또한 브루너는 사고의 측면에서 분석적 사고와 직관적 사고의 관련을 범형적 사고와 내러티브적 사고의 관련으로 대체하여 설명하고 있다. 브루너가 강조하고 있는 내러티브적 사고는 직관적 사고를 가리키는 것으로 볼 수 있지만 엄밀히 말하여 직관적 사고는, 특히 분석적 사고와 대비될 때, 표현 이전의 사고에 더 가까운 것이다. 그리하여 지식의 구조와 표현 이전의 직관적 사고는 교과의 내면화와 다른 것이 아니며 이 점에서 내러티브는 교과의 내면화를 가능하게 하는 특별한 언어를 가리킨다고 볼 수 있다. 옹에 의하면 내러티브는 모든 말의 원형적 형태를 가리키는 것으로서 몸감각, 맥클루한의 용어로는 공통감각을 심층적 원천으로 하여 성립하는 언어이다. 이 몸감각 또는 공통감각은 마음의 변화와 몸의 변화가 미분화된 채 나타나는 전신체적 반응과 다른 것이 아니다. 교과의 내면화는 이러한 전신체적 반응으로 규정될 수 있으며, 이 점에서 내러티브 이론은 교과의 내면화를 가능하게 하는 언어와 그 구사방식에 관심을 기울이게 한다.

영문 초록

This paper is intended to shed light on certain aspects of the internalization of studying subject, which is implied in Bruner s theory of narrative. As an alternative to solving the problems of education at the time, Bruner suggested not teaching middle language in terms of content, but teaching the structure of knowledge, and then teaching culture. In addition, Bruner explains the relationship between analytical thought and intuitive thought in terms of thought, replacing it with that of paradigmatic thought and narrative thought. The narrative thought emphasized by Bruner can be seen as referring to intuitive thought, but strictly speaking, intuitive thought is closer to ‘the not-yet-manifested’ thought, especially when contrasted with analytical thought. Thus, the structure of knowledge and the intuitive thought of ‘the not-yet-manifested’ are not different from the internalization of studying subject, and in this respect narratives can be regarded as a special language that leads us to the internalization of studying subject. According to Ong, the narratives refer to the original form of all words, so that narrative is a language that is formed by kinesthesia-equivalent to the English word ‘body’s sense’ and McLuhan s term for synesthesia-equivalent to the English word ‘common sense’ as an in-depth source. This kinesthesia or synesthesia is not different from the response of the whole body in which the change of the mind and the change of the body appear undifferentiated. The internalization of studying subject can be defined by the response of the whole body, and in this respect the theory of narratives makes us interested in the language and its ways of speaking that enable us to internalize the studying subject.
