인공지능교육에 관한 초중등교사의 인식에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 최근 이슈가 되고 있는 인공지능 교육에 대한 초중등 교사의 인식에 관한 분석 연구이다. AI교육이 한층 더 중요해짐에 따라 교육의 주체인 교사가 가지고 있는 인식을 알아보고 이 인식을 통해 AI교육의 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다. 인공지능교육연수에 참여한 초중등 교사들을 대상으로 AI교육에 대한 10개의 문항으로 설문을 실시하였다. 설문에 대한 결과는 첫째, AI교육은 ‘인공지능을 삶에 활용’하는 역량을 기르는 것이라는 인식이 가장 높았고 뒤를 이어 인공지능 개념 자체를 배우는 것과 산업에 융합하는 것 역시 AI교육이라고 답하였다. 이를 위해 인공지능을 타교과에 활용하거나 문제해결 과정에 융합하는 것을 배우는 것이 교사교육과 학생교육에 중요하다고 답하였다. 둘째, 인공지능의 개념·원리와 활용·융합간의 관계 그리고 AI교육과 소프트웨어교육 간에는 관련성이 있다고 인식하였다. 셋째, AI교육 도입 시기에 관해서는 초등학교에는 다소 긍정적이고, 중고등학교에서 매우 긍정적이었다. 특히 초등학교 도입에 관해서는 중등교사보다 초등교사가 더 긍정적인 입장을 보였다. 넷째, 인공지능에 대한 인식으로는 ‘인간과 같은 지능’, ‘학습하는 기계’, ‘보조도구(편리한 도구)’, ‘빅데이터’, ‘새로운 과학기술’의 순서로 범주를 만들 수 있었다. 다섯째, AI교육의 현장 적용 사례에 대해서 ‘개인교수 보조도구’, ‘실생활 융합교육’, ‘인공지능 개념학습’, ‘언어활용교육’, ‘프로그래밍교육’의 순서로 답변을 확인하였다. 여섯째, 인공지능 윤리교육의 내용으로는 ‘알고리즘의 판단과 책임’, ‘인간의 존엄성’, ‘나쁜 인공지능’, ‘인공지능사회의 사회적 갈등’, ‘개인정보와 사생활’ 문제를 들 수 있었다. 본 연구 자료가 향후 AI 교육이 발전할 수 있는 도움 자료가 되길 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the perceptions of elementary and secondary teachers regarding artificial intelligence (AI) education, which is an issue that has recently gained traction. Because AI education has become increasingly crucial, we examined the perceptions of teachers who are the primary focus of education and suggested future directions for AI education. We developed a set of 10 questions focusing on AI education and surveyed elementary and middle school teachers who completed the AI education training. The survey results are as follows: First, teachers recognized AI education for cultivating the ability to “utilize artificial intelligence in life.” Moreover, AI education answered in the order of learning AI concept and education converging to industry. Teachers perceived it as the primary goal of AI education to learn to use AI in other subjects, or integrate it into a problem-solving process. Second, teachers noted a complementary relationship between AI and software education, and the relationships among the concepts, principles, utilization, and convergence of AI. Third, the introduction of AI education was somewhat positive for elementary school students and very positive for middle and high school students. Compared with secondary school teachers, elementary school teachers showed increasingly positive attitudes toward elementary school introduction. Fourth, teachers recognized AI in the order of “human-like intelligence,” “learning machine,” “auxiliary tool (convenient tool),” “big data,” and “new science and technology.” Fifth, teachers responded to the applications of AI education in the order of “individual teaching assistant tools,” “real life convergence education,” “artificial intelligence concept learning,” “language utilization education,” and “programming education.” Sixth, teachers selected “Algorithm Judgment and Responsibility,” “Human Dignity,” “Good Artificial Intelligence,” “Artificial Intelligence Society Conflict,” and “Personal Information and Privacy” as the contents of AI ethics education. We anticipate that the current study results will help to set the direction for AI education in the future, and that AI will be used effectively in primary and secondary education.
