이혼가정에서 성장한 어머니의 자녀양육 경험에 관한 내러티브 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구는 이혼가정에서 성장한 어머니의 이야기를 통해 그들의 원가정에서의 성장경험과 자녀양육 경험의 의미를 심층적으로 이해하기 위하여 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 성장과정에서 부모의 이혼을 경험하였고, 현재 유아기 자녀를 양육하고 있는 두 명의 연구 참여자와 심층 면담을 진행하고, Clandinin과 Connelly(2007)의 시간성, 사회성, 장소로 이루어진 3차원적 내러티브 탐구공간을 따라 참여자들의 이혼가정에서의 성장경험과 자녀양육 경험에 대한 내러티브를 구성하였다. 또한 이혼가정에서 성장한 어머니의 유아기 자녀양육 경험의 의미는 ‘내가 겪은 상처는 절대 주지 말아야지’, ‘부모 및 자녀로서 자신을 비교대상화하다’, ‘부모를 중층적으로 이해하다’, ‘엇갈린 이인삼각은 보이고 싶지 않아’, ‘자녀 앞에서 부모의 이혼을 다시 직면하다’로 드러났다. 본 연구는 자녀양육 경험을 통해 원가족 부모, 부모의 이혼을 겪은 어머니, 그리고 다음 세대인 자녀로 이어지는 3세대의 흐름을 통해 부모의 이혼이 자녀의 성장과 그 자녀의 부모 되는 경험에 어떻게 드러나는지 살펴보았다는데 의의가 있다. 연구의 마지막에는 연구결과를 토대로 상담 및 교육 현장에서 시사하는 바를 논의하고 후속연구를 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to understand the parenting experiences of mothers who grew up in a divorced family. The researcher collected the life stories of two participants who have infant children through in-depth interviews based on the three-dimensional narrative inquiry, temporality, sociality, and place proposed by Clandinin and Connelly (2007). Participants’ experiences in divorced family and parenting experiences of their children were reconstructed through the participant’s telling and retelling of their life stories. The meaning of participants’ experiences were categorized into five topics, ‘I won t give the past wound,’ ‘To do comparative objectification as a child and parent,’ ‘Have a multilayered understanding of my parents,’ ‘I don t want to show my children a contorted three-legged race with my husband’, and ‘Face again my parents’ divorce in front of my children.’ Findings of this study describe the flow of three generations through the parenting experience of mothers who grew up in a divorced family from the original family s parents, to the parents and the children. Additionally, implications for counseling and education of parents were discussed and follow up studies were suggested.
