전문대학의 교수·학습 방법 우수사례 분석 및 시사점

국문 초록

이 연구는 교육인적자원부와 한국직업능력개발원에서 주관해 온 전국 전문대학 교수·학습연구대회 수상작 사례를 중심으로 전문대학에서 활용되고 있는 교수·학습 방법에 대한 전반적인 경향과 계열별 특성을 파악하고 수상자들이 인식하는 성과를 파악하는데 목적을 두었다. 연구방법으로는 우수사례에 대한 내용 분석과 면담이 활용되었다. 연구결과 전문대학의 교수·학습 우수사례에서 주로 사용한 교수·학습 방법은 프로젝트학습, 문제기반학습, 실습 등 학습자 중심적인 방식인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 교수·학습 방법이 적용된 배경으로는 첫째, 산업체가 요구하는 수준의 실무능력 배양, 둘째, 실제적인 문제해결 능력 함양, 셋째, 학습자의 동기 제고 및 적극적인 수업참여 유도, 넷째, 학습자 주도적 학습 환경 조성, 다섯째, 학습자의 개인차와 기초수학능력을 보완하기 위한 것이었다. 계열별 특성에서도 적용 배경은 유사하였고 공학계열은 프로젝트학습, 사회실무계열은 협동(협력/토론)학습, 자연보건계열은 문제기반학습, 예체능계열은 프로젝트 및 실습이 가장 빈번하게 활용되었다. 또한 수상자들이 인식하는 성과로서 학습자 측면에서는 학습동기가 신장되고, 자기주도적인 학습 체제가 확립되었으며 궁극적으로 학습효과가 향상된 것으로 인식하였다. 교수자 측면에서는 전반적인 교수능력 개발이 향상되었고 수업을 체계적으로 준비하고자 하는 노력이 증가되고 학습자 중심의 수업을 실시하고자 하는 변화가 일어난 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 전문대학의 교수학습을 개선하기 위한 주요 시사점을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The Purpose of this study is to exam the trends and features of instructional methods in vocational college. For this study, we analyze 70 good practices of instructional methods in vocational college submitted to the KRIVET(Korean Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training)from 2002 to 2006 for Research Competition of Instruction and Learning of Vocational College. As a result, The most frequent instructional method is project or problem based learning, and the next is practice in the LAB, and also on-line learning is blended into the classroom learning. The backgrounds of implementing these instructional methods are 1) developing executive ability required by business, 2) fostering problem solving skills, 3) enhancing learner`s motivation and interest, 4) encouraging learners` engagement in their learning process 5)complementing individual differences. According to the departments of vocational college, frequently used instructional methods are project-based learning to develop practical ability in engineering department, collaborative learning including group discussion to foster cooperative working ability and communication skills in social-practical department, problem-based learning to enhance the problem solving skill in authentic context, project-based learning to develop creativity and producing ability. The results of implementing good learning and instructional methods are improving learner`s motivation, establishing the learner-directed learning system, and consequently, enhancing the learning results. and also, by aspect of instructor, enhancing the instructional competency, making more efforts to preparing an instruction systematically, bringing about the learner-centered classroom. Based on these research findings, we suggest the implications for improvement of instructional and learning quality in vocational college environments.
