국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 주간보호센터를 이용하는 경증치매 노인이 삶의 질을 위한 집단미술치료에서 어떠한 경험을 하고, 그 경험의 의미는 무엇인지 살펴보는데 있다. 이를 위해 경증 치매 등급을 받은 노인 6명을 참여자로 선정하여, 질적 사례 연구 방법으로 탐구하였다. 집단미술치료 사례는 2018년 6월 21일부터 9월 13일까지 주1회 총 20회기를 진행하였다. 그 결과 8개의 대주제와 21개의 하위주제가 도출되었으며, 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 참여자들은 다른 집단원들과 미술 작업을 하고 작품에 담긴 이야기를 나누면서 치매로 인한 우울한 마음과 삶에서의 답답함을 풀어내고 정서적인 안정감을 찾는 경험을 하였다. 둘째, 참여자들은 혼자 있으면 치매에 도움이 되지 않는다는 인식 때문에 집단에 소속되려고 노력하였으며, 미술을 매개로 집단원들과 상호작용하면서 자신과 타인에 대한 이해를 높이고 응집된 대인관계 경험을 하였다. 셋째, 참여자들은 배움이 치매에 도움이 된다고 생각하며 다양한 미술 매체를 활용한 미술 작업과 나눔에 집중하고 그 안에서 성취와 만족감을 경험하였다.

영문 초록

This thesis is to conduct case study on quality of life for elderly with mild dementia using day care center and to examine the elderly’s experience in group art therapy and the meaning of such experience. Six elderly people with mild dementia were selected as participants and explored qualitative case studies. This study conducted 12 group art therapy sessions once a week for 60 minutes from June 21, 2018 to September 13, 2018. After collecting and analyzing the data, this study derived 8 topics and 21 sub-topics. Based on the research results First, the participants worked on painting and shared ideas about their artworks with the group members. In the process, the participants had the experience of reliving their depression and frustration in life and finding emotional stability. Secondly, the participants tried to get along with other group members based on the perception that being alone wouldn’t help in dementia. While interacting with group members through art, the participants enhanced understanding on themselves and others and experienced concentrated personal relationship. Third, the participants thought that learning would help in dementia. The participants focused on painting and sharing through various art media and had the experience of feeling accomplishment and satisfaction.
