성매매에 대한 대학생의 인식 유형 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 Q 방법론을 적용하여 성매매에 대한 대학생의 인식 유형과 각 유형별 특성을 파악하는 데 있다. 연구 결과, 4가지 유형을 발견하였다. 유형1(근절되어야 할 사회악)은 성매매는 사회악이며, 근절되어야 한다는 인식이었고, 유형2(근절 불필요한 개인의 자유)는 오늘날 대부분의 성매매는 합의 하에 이루어지므로 성매매는 개인의 자유이며 근절이 불필요하다는 인식이었다. 유형3(환경개선이 필요한 개인의 자유)은 성매매는 개인의 자유이지만, 여전히 비자발적인 성 판매자가 존재하고 있으며 이들은 위험에 처해있다는 인식이었다. 따라서 이들은 성매매 환경을 개선해야한다고 생각하였다. 마지막 유형(근절 가능성 의문인 사회악)은 성매매를 사회악이자 근절되어야 할 현상으로 보았다. 하지만 이들은 성매매가 자본주의 권력으로부터 야기된다고 보기에 성매매 근절 가능성에 대해서는 의문을 갖고 있었다. 끝으로 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 연구의 함의를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the perception types toward prostitutions of university students and their characteristics by using Q methodology. As a result of the study, four perception types were found. Type 1(The social evils and it must be eradicated) was related to the belief that the prostitution is social evil and must be eradicated. Type 2(The Individual freedom and it is unnecessary to eradicate) noted that, most of the prostitutions nowadays is done in an agreement so that it should be up to the individual decision and unnecessary to eradicate. Type 3(The individual freedom but it need to improve the environment) believed that although prostitution is a matter of an individual freedom, involuntarily sex sellers still exist and they are in danger. Therefore, they claimed that prostitution environment should be improved. The last type(The social evils but possibility of eradication is questionable) perceived that prostitution is social evils and should be eradicated. But students think that prostitution is caused by the structure of capitalist power, so they questioned the possibility of the eradication of prostitution. Based on these results, implications of this research were discussed.
