치료적 낙태와 태아의 도덕적 지위에 관한 고찰

국문 초록

태아의 도덕적 지위에 대한 논쟁을 역사적 관점에 중점을 두어 고찰하였다. 본 고찰을 통하여, 이 논쟁의 전 과정이 낙태에 반대하는 입장을 강화시켜주기 보다 오히려 약화시킨다는것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 낙태에 반대하는 사람들조차도 낙태의 허용을 위한 예외 사례로 통상 인정하고 있는 “치료적 낙태”를 분명한 도덕적 근거 없이 받아들이고 있다는 것도 확인하였다. 나아가 태아의 도덕적 지위에 관한 입장과 이에 근거한 낙태에 관한 입장들을 비판적으로 고찰하였다. 낙태에 대한 극단적인 입장은 진보주의와 보수주의이다. 이 두 입장은 이미 장점과 단점이 잘 알려져 있기 때문에 많은 논의를 여기에서 다룰 필요는 없을 것이다. 여기에서는 온건한 견해를 4가지 부류로 세분하여, 즉 1. 온건한 보주수의, 2. 온건한 진보주의, 3. 인격성 부여에서 온건한 입장, 4. 도덕적 지위 부여에서 온건한 입장으로 구분하여 낙태의 허용 가능성을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Here I discussed the debate on the moral status of the fetus, focussing on the historical point of view. The whole process of this debate shows us that history of its debate is going to weaken rather than strengthen the position against abortion. And it is confirmed that even those who oppose abortion have accepted treatment abortion , which is commonly recognized in almost society of the world as an exception to abortion, without clear moral grounds. Furthermore, we have critically examined on the moral position of the fetus status and on the views of abortion based on it. The extreme stance on abortion is liberalism and conservatives, and these two theories are already well known for their merits and disadvantages, so there will be no need to discuss many discussions here. I just discuss the moderate views, by dividing it into four categories. Moderate views are subdivided into: 1. moderate conservatives, 2. moderate liberalism, 3. moderate position as being a person, 4. moderate position as being granting. the moral status.
