퇴직을 경험한 중년남성의 자기인식, 타인인식, 가족관계에 대한 상징체계 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 퇴직을 경험한 중년남성의 자기인식, 타인인식, 가족관계에 대한 상징체계를 분석하여 퇴직 중년남성들의 경험과 관련된 상징의미를 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위해 퇴직을 경험한 중년남성 5명을 대상으로 인형심리진단평가를 실시하였다. 인터뷰 과정을 통해 자료를 수집하였으며, 수집된 자료에 대한 총체적인 이해를 바탕으로 내용의 주제를 밝히는 질적 내용분석 방법을 적용하였다. 분석결과 자기인식에서는 참여자들의 독립, 긍정적 소망, 강함, 부정적 소망, 공격, 약함, 의존, 방어/생존의 순으로 도출되었다. 타인인식에서는 대부분의 참여자가 수 상징체계 1로 표현되었으며, 이들은 퇴직 후 무기력하고 좌절된 심리상태를 무의식적으로 드러냈다. 한편 가족관계에서는 대부분 고립형의 상징체계인 ‘부친 고립형’으로 나타났으며 가족내 상호작용은 부정적이고 갈등과 소원한 관계를 보여주었다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 퇴직 후 중년남성들의 심리적 어려움에 대한 효율적인 중재 및 개입을 돕는 기초자료를 제공하는데 연구의 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the symbolic systems of self-awareness, awareness of others, and family relations among middle-aged men that experienced retirement to figure out symbolic meanings related to their experiences. For this purpose, the study conducted psychological diagnosis and assessment with a figure with five middle-aged men that experienced retirement. Data was collected in the interview process, and the qualitative content analysis method was applied to figure out the topic of content based on the total understanding of collected data. The analysis results show that independence came in first in the self-awareness of the participants, being followed by positive wish, strong, negative wish, attack, weak, dependence, and defense/survival in the order. In the awareness of others, most of the participants were represented in 1 as a number-based symbolic system. They unconsciously displayed their lethargic and frustrated psychological state after retirement. In family relations, most of them were in the isolation of father type as an isolation-based symbolic system. They had interactions in the forms of conflict and estrangement in the family. The present study is significant in that it provided basic data to help with efficient arbitration and intervention for the psychological difficulties of middle-aged men after retirement based on its findings.
