국문 초록

본 연구는 초, 중학생의 학업성취 수준과 가정의 경제적 수준에 따라 우울, 불안, 스트레스에 차이가 있는지 살펴보았다. 가정의 경제적 수준에 대한 지표는 가정형편이 어려워 학교에서 받는 급식비 지원 유무를 사용하였다. 연구대상은 B시에 소재한 21개의 초등학교 4, 5, 6학년 846명과 20개의 중학교 1, 2, 3학년 879명의 학생들 및 그들의 담임교사들이다. 학생은 우울, 불안, 스트레스 척도에 응답하였고, 교사는 학업성취도 수준과 급식비 지원 유무를 묻는 문항에 응답하였다. 학업성취도 수준은 중상집단과 중하집단으로 나누었다. 학업성취 수준과 급식비 지원유무에 따라 학생들의 우울, 불안, 스트레스에 차이가 있는지 살펴보기 위해 t 검증과 이원변량분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째 학업성취 중상집단과 중하집단 간 우울과 스트레스에서 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 급식비 지원집단과 미지원집단 간 우울과 스트레스에서 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 학업성취 수준과 급식비 지원 유무의 상호작용 효과를 알아보기 위해 이원변량분석을 실시한 결과, 우울은 학업성취 중상/급식비 미지원집단이 학업성취 중하/급식비 지원집단 및 학업성취 중 하/급식비 미지원집단과 차이를 나타냈다. 스트레스는 학업성취 중상/급식비 미지원 집단이 학업성취 중하/급식비 지원집단 및 학업성취 중하/급식비 미지원집단과 차이를 나타냈다. 분석결과에 기초하여 논의 및 함의가 제시되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the differences of depression, anxiety, and stress according to academic performance and home economic status. Home economic status was measured by free school meals. For this study, self-reports data were collected from 846 elementary 4-6th school students and 879 middle school students, measuring depression, anxiety and stress. Their class teachers also completed the checklist on academic performance and the free school meals. The students were divided into 2 groups (upper and lower) according to the level of academic performance and whether to apply for free school meals or not. T-test and two-way Anova were used to analyze the data collected. The results of this study were as follows. First, there were differences on depression and stress between elementary school students and middle school students. Second, there were differences on depression and stress between the upper and the lower level of academic performance groups. Third, differences on depression and stress whether to apply for free school meals or not were revealed. Fourth, those who were in the lower level of academic performance with receiving free school meals, were more likely to have depression and stress compared to other groups. Based on the results, findings and implications are discussed.
