인문계열 고등학생들의 사회과학 맥락에서 미분계수 지도의 효과

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 인문계열 학생들에게 사회과학 맥락에서 미분 개념을 지도하고, 그 결과 학생들이 사회과학 맥락에서 수학 내·외적으로 미분계수를 이해하고, 미분계수를 이용하여 사회 현상을 이해하는 데 변화가 있는지를 분석하는 것 이다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수업후에, 수학과 사회과학 맥락 내에서 미분 계수와 관련된 표현을 정확하게 사용한 학생이 증가하였다. 둘째, 수업후에, 미분계수 개념이 포함된 사회과학 맥락을 이해하여 좀 더 정확하게 응답한 학생의 수가 증가하였다. 그러나 사회과학의 맥락에서 수업을 받았으나 학생들이 그래프를 사회과학의 맥락에서 언어로 자세히 표현하는 것을 어려워하였다. 그리고 언어적 표현을 기호적으로 변환시킬 때 일부 오류가 발생하여 사후에서는 정답률이 낮았다. 이것으로 학생들이 언어적으로 표현된 상황을 다른 상황으로 변환시키거나 다른 방법으로 표현된 상황을 언어로 표현하기 위해서는 미분계수 정의 이외에 경제 과목 등 관련 있는 영역의 지식이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과에 따라 사회과학의 맥락에서 언어적 표현을 중심으로 한 표현간의 변환을 잘 지도할 수 있는 자료와 방법에 대한 심층적인 연구가 필요함을 제안한다

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to teach high school students the concept of differentials within and outside of mathematical contexts and to analyze whether students can apply differential coefficients to understand social phenomena. The results are as follows. First, after completing the class, the number of students correctly using expressions related to differential coefficients increased when dealing with mathematical and social science topics. Second, more students were able to correctly understand social science contexts that included the concept of differential coefficients. However, it was difficult for students to translate graphs into verbal representations of social science. Some errors also occurred when translating verbal representations to symbols, and the percentage of correct answers was low at the end. In addition to defining derivative coefficients, the results revealed the need for knowledge of other relevant areas such as economics in order to translate the verbally represented situations into other situations and vice versa. The results of this study suggest that in-depth research on data and methods that can guide the transformation among expressions in social science contexts is required.
