국문 초록

교사의 소진에 대한 문제가 대두되고 교사의 스트레스 대처방식이 소진에 영향을 주는 요인으로 제안되고 있다. 본 연구는 초등교사의 스트레스 대처방식이 소진에 미치는 영향을 학생의 문제행동에 대한 지각이 매개할 것으로 가정하고 이를 검증하였다. 연구를 위하여 초등교사 304명의 스트레스 대처방식, 소진, 학생문제행동 지각을 설문으로 측정하고 SPSS Macro 프로그램과 AMOS 프로그램으로 통계적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 문제 중심적 대처는 소진을 낮추는 직접효과가 있고 학생문제행동 지각을 낮추어 소진을 낮추는 간접효과도 있었다. 사회적 지지 추구 대처와 정서 완화적 대처는 소진을 높이는 직접효과만 유의미하며 학생문제행동 지각에는 영향을 미치지않는 것으로 나타났다. 소망적사고 대처는 학생문제행동 지각 및 소진에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 초등교사가 문제중심적 스트레스 대처방식을 많이 사용하고 사회적 지지 추구 및 정서 완화적 대처를 적게 사용할수록 소진이 낮아짐을 시사한다. 또한 초등교사의 문제 중심적 대처가 학생의 문제행동을 덜 심각하게 지각하도록하여 소진을 낮추기도 함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Teachers’ burn-out has been an issue in society and teacher’s stress coping style is suggested as a factor to influence on burn-out. This study hypothesized that teacher’s perception of student’s problematic behavior may mediate the relationship between teacher’s stress coping style and burnout in teachers of elementary school. To investigate the hypotheses, questionnaires of stress coping style, perception of student’s problematic behavior, and burnout were completed by 304 elementary school teachers and analysed using SPSS Macro program and AMOS program. The result showed that problem-focused coping reduced burn-out both directly and indirectly through perception of student’s problematic behavior. Social support seeking and emotional relief coping directly increased burn-out and had no influence on the perception of student’s problematic behavior. Wishful thinking coping had no significant effect on both the perception of student’s problematic behavior and burn-out. The result implies high problem-focused coping and low social support seeking and emotion relief coping of elementary school teachers influence on low burn-out. Plus, this study implies high problem-focused coping influences on low perception of student’s problematic behavior, and thus reduces burn-out.
