부부갈등과 아동의 수치심의 관계: 부모의 정서적 지지는 조절변인인가 매개변인인가?

국문 초록

본 연구는 부모의 부부갈등과 아동기 자녀의 수치심의 관계에서 부모의 정서적 지지의 역할을 알 아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 경기도 소재 초등학교 3곳에서 4~6학년 남녀학생 316명을 대상으로, Grych, Seid와 Fincham(1992)이 개발하고 권영옥과 이정덕(1997)이 타당화한 자녀가 지각한 부부갈등척 도, Harder와 Zalma(1990)가 제작하고 심종은(1999)이 번안한 자의식검사, 박지원(1985)이 개발하고 황 윤경(1995)이 타당화한 사회적 지지 척도를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 19.0과 AMOS 19.0을 사용하여 기술통계분석, 상관관계분석, 위계적 회귀분석, 구조방정식모형 검증을 하였 으며, 매개효과를 알아보기 위해 Sobel 검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 부모의 부부갈등과 아동의 수치 심 사이에서 아동이 지각한 아버지와 어머니의 정서적 지지수준의 조절효과는 유의하지 않았다. 반 면, 부모의 부부갈등과 아동의 수치심의 관계는 아버지의 정서적 지지를 통해 부분매개 되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 부모의 부부갈등과 아동의 수치심 사이에서 작용하는 부모의 정서적 지지의 역 할을 검증함으로써 부부갈등이 자녀의 심리적 건강에 미치는 영향과 이와 관련된 부모의 역할에 대 해 탐색하였다. 이를 통해 부모의 부부갈등을 개선하고 아동의 수치심을 줄이기 위한 치료적, 교육적 개입 방안의 모색과 부모교육 및 상담을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the role of perceived parents’ emotional support in the relationship between the level of parents’ marital conflict and the child’s shame. Three hundred-sixteen students were surveyed, who were 4th, 5th and 6th grade females and males from 3 elementary schools located in Gyeonggi-do. The data were collected using the Korean versions of the Children’s Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale(Grych, Seid & Fincham, 1992), the Personal Feelings Questionnaire-2(Harder & Zalma, 1990), and the Emotional Support Subscale of the Social Support Scale(Park, 1985). Descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, hierarchical regression analysis, and structural equation modeling were performed to analyze the data using SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 19.0. The mediation was tested by Sobel test. The results indicated that both mother’s and father’s emotional support were not significant moderators between the parents’ marital conflict and the child’s shame. Instead, the effect of parents’ marital conflict on the child’s shame was partially mediated through the father’s emotional support. This study examined the factors and pathways that affect child’s shame by testing the moderating and mediating effects of parents’ emotional support between the perceived parents’ marital conflict and the child’s shame. The results provided valuable insights for developing therapeutic and educational programs to intervene children’s shame when their parents’ marital conflicts were high.
