아동용 주장성 척도(Child Assertiveness Scale)와 Children's Assertive Behavior Scale의 타당도 비교

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 아동용 주장성 척도(Child Assertiveness Scale, CAS)와 Children's Assertive Behavior Scale(CABS)의 타당도를 비교하는 것이었다. CAS는 사회불안과는 중간 수준의 부적 상관관계를, 사회적 사람직성과는 낮은 수준의 정적 상관관계를 나타냈다. 이와는 달리, CABS는 사회불안과는 낮은 수준의 부적 상관관계를, 사회적 바람직성과는 중간 수준의 정적 상관관계를 나타냈다. 또래 거명법에 의해 산출된 또래평가 주장성은 CAS와는 중간 수준, CABS와는 낮은 수준의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 교사에 의해 주장성이 높은 것으로 거명된 아동들은 낮은 것으로 거명된 아동들에 비해 CAS 점수가 유의미하게 높았으나, CABS 점수에 있어서는 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 또래평가 주장성을 종속변수로 CABS와 CAS 점수를 독립변인으로 설정한 위계적 회귀분석의 결과, 사회불안을 통제했을 때에 CABS에 의해 설명되는 변량은 유의미하지 않았으나, 사회불안과 CABS의 영향을 통제한 후에도 CAS에 의해 증가하는 설명변량은 유의미했다. 이러한 결과는 CAS가 CABS보다 나은 타당도를 가지고 있음을 지지하는 것으로 여겨진다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to compare the validity of the Child Assertiveness Scale(CAS) and the Children's Assertive Behavior Scale(CABS). Scores on the CAS indicated moderately negative correlation with social anxiety and weakly positive correlation with social desirability, while CABS scores revealed weakly negative correlation with social anxiety and moderately positive correlation with social desirability. Peer nominations of assertiveness were correlated moderately with CAS scores and weakly with CABS scores. Children who scored high on teacher nominations of assertiveness reported significantly higher CAS scores than children who received low scores on such nominations. Significant difference in CABS scores was not found between the two groups of children. A hierarchical multiple regression analysis predicting the peer nominations scores from the CABS and the CAS was conducted. After controlling for social anxiety, the contribution of the CABS to the explanation of the variance in the peer nominations scores was not significant. With the CAS added to social anxiety and the CABS, the change in amount of variance accounted for was significant. These findings seem to suggest that the CAS has better vaildity than the CABS.
