독서흥미, 독서활동, 학업적 자기효능감 및 사회성이 국어과 학업성취에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 독서흥미, 독서활동, 학업적 자기효능감, 사회성, 및 초등학생들의 국어과 학업성취 간의 관련성을 살펴보고, 선행연구들을 기초로 네 가지 가설모형을 설정하여 이를 검증하였다. 본 연구는 경남소재의 초등학교 6학년생 539명을 대상으로 검사한자료를 활용하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 독서흥미와 독서활동, 학업적 자기효능감과 사회성, 독서활동과 사회성이 높은 상관관계를 나타냈다. 또 국어과 학업성취도와는 사회성이 다른 변인들에 비해 상대적으로 높은 정적상관을 보였다. 둘째, 세 가지 가설모형들의 적합지수들을 비교한 결과, 독서흥미는 독서활동에 영향을 미치고, 독서활동은 다시 학업적 자기효능감을 매개로 하여 국어과 학업성취에 간접적인 영향을 주었으며, 학업적 자기효능감은 직접적으로 또는 사회성을 매개로 간접적으로 국어과 학업성취에 영향을 주는 모형이 적합함을 확인하였다. 셋째, 국어과 학업성취에 영향을 미치는 변인들의 직?간접적인 효과를 분석한 결과, 사회성의 직접적인 효과가 다른 예측변인들에 비해 상대적으로 높았고, 간접적 효과는 독서활동이 상대적으로 가장 높게 나타났다. 이상의 결과들을 기초로 하여 실제 학교장면에서 국어에 대한 학업성취를 증진시킬 수 있는 독서교육환경 조성방법과 학습자들의 독서흥미를 유발 및 유지시킬 수 있는 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between reading interest, reading activity, academic self-efficacy, sociality, and Korean academic achievement, and to analyze input-procedure-output framework of the structural equation model in reading variables, self-efficacy, sociality and Korean academic achievement. The participants were 539 6th graders. This study found a strong correlation between sociality and reading activity and self-efficacy. It also found a positive correlation between Korean academic achievement and sociality. Results of the structural equation model revealed that reading interest directly influenced reading activity and reading activity had an indirect impact on Korean academic achievement through academic self-efficacy and sociality. Futhermore, sociality had the highest direct effect on Korean academic achievement, whereas reading activity showed the highest indirect on Korean academic achievement among independent variables. This study discussed ways to change the educational environment that will improve reading, reading motivation and Korean academic achievement in elementary schools.
