지역아동센터 이용 아동의 학교적응 영향요인들 간 구조적 관계

국문 초록

본 연구는 지역아동센터 아동패널조사 2기 패널 2차년도 데이터를 사용하여 지역아동센터 를 이용하는 아동의 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 요인들 간의 구조적 관계를 살펴보고자 수행 되었다. 초등학교 5학년 아동을 대상으로 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시한 결과, 아동 결핍지 수, 부모-자녀 관계, 지역아동센터 교사-아동 관계, 지역아동센터 만족도가 아동의 학교적응 에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 드러났다. 부모의 사회경제적 지위는 아동의 학교적응에 직접적인 영향력을 발휘하지 않는 것으로 판명되었다. 하지만 부모의 사회경제적 지위는 학 교적응에 가장 강력한 영향을 끼치는 아동 결핍지수를 결정하는 핵심요인으로 밝혀졌다. 아 동 결핍지수는 부모-자녀 관계에는 강력한 영향을 미치지만 지역아동센터 관련 변인들에는 별다른 영향력을 행사하지 않았다. 센터 내 교사-아동 관계는 학교적응에 직접적으로 강력한 정적 효과를 발휘하는 한편 센터에 대한 만족도를 매개로 학교적응에 유의미한 간접효과도 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 저소득층 아동의 계층상승에 지역아동 센터가 기여할 수 있는 방안들을 간략하게 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Drawing on second wave data of the 2nd panel from the Community Child Center Survey, we examined the structural relationships between the factors influencing school adjustment among Korean fifth graders using community child center. Our structural equation modeling(SEM) results exhibited that child deprivation index, parent-child relationship, community child center teacher-child relationship, and the level of satisfaction with the center have significant effects on school adjustment. Parental socioeconomic status(SES) was found not to exert a direct influence on child's school adjustment. Parental socioeconomic status was a key determinant of the child deprivation index, however, which has the strongest influence on school adjustment. The child deprivation index had a strong impact on parent-child relationship but had little to do with the variables associated with community child center. On the other hand, teacher-child relationship at the center yielded a strong direct effect on school adjustment, and also had a significant indirect effect on school adjustment through satisfaction with the center. Based on the results, we discussed briefly the ways in which community child center can contribute to the upward mobility of low-income children.
