인권 교육에 따른 온라인대학 성인학습자의 인권감수성 변화에 대한 연구

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 온라인 대학에 재학 중인 성인학습자를 대상으로, 인권감수성의 수준을 파악하고, 인권 과목 수강 후 인권감수성에 어떤 변화가 나타나는지를 검증하려는 것이다. 이를 위해 서울 소재 한 사이버대학교에서 2016학년도 1학기 휴먼서비스와 인권이라는 과목을 수강하고 있는 학생을 대상으로 수강 전과 후 인권감수성검사를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 연구참여자의 인권감수성은 81.37이었으며, 책임지각, 결과지각, 상황지각 순으로 높았다. 둘째, 인권 과목 수강 후 연구참여자의 전체 및 하위요인별 인권감수성은 통계적으로 유의미한 수준에서 향상되었다. 에피소드별 인권감수성 역시 향상되었으나 통계적 유의수준을 만족시킨 항목은 6개였으며, 사생활권과 양성평등권에서 가장 큰 변화의 폭을 보였다. 셋째, 과목수강 후에도 유의한 변화를 보이지 않거나 위계상 최하위를 유지한 인권항목은 환경권과 구금으로부터의 자유권이었으며, 공동체 및 자신의 이해관계와 인권가치가 상충될 때는 후자보다 전자가 우선하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 성인학습자 대상 인권교육에 관한 연구 및 실천적 함의를 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study lies in measuring human rights sensitivity in adult learners attending an on-line university in Korea. Utilizing the Human Rights Sensitivity Index developed by the National Human Rights Commission, we first measured the baseline of human rights sensitivity of students attending the Division of Human Services. The study then conducted a pre- and post-test on the same students who were enrolled in the course “Human rights in the context of human services.” The results were as follows. First, the respondents marked 81.37 in the Human Rights Sensitivity Index, the score being highest in responsibility awareness, followed by consequence awareness and situation awareness. Second, respondents’ human rights sensitivity was found to be statistically significant after taking the human rights course. Third, the score for human rights sensitivity improved in all given episodes that were measured, but of these six were found to be statistically significant. Of these, rights to privacy and equal gender rights showed the largest difference. Fourth, environmental rights scored the lowest and also showed no statistically significant change in the preand post-tests. We conclude by suggesting that future research regarding human rights education for adults will benefit from having a control-group to discern the effects of pre- and post-effects of a human rights course.
