피아노 듀엣 문헌 연구 및 교수방법

국문 초록

본 연구는 교육적 목적과 사교적 음악 행사를 위해 작곡되었던 피아노 듀엣 원곡(original piano duets)에 대한 전반적인 소개와 바람직한 교수법을 제공함으로서 국내 피아노 교육자들이 초급 및 중급 과정의 듀엣 지도에 체계적으로 활용할 수 있도록 지원하는데 그 목적이 있다. 18세기 대표적인 작곡가 모차르트의 연주를 시작으로 발전된 피아노 듀엣은 약 150여 년 동안 황금기를 이루었으며, 당시 작곡가들의 의도와 본질이 고스란히 살아있는 원곡들을 난이도별로 학습한다는 것은 교육적으로 매우 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 맥그로(C. McGraw)가 듀엣 문헌을 목록화한 자료에서는 약100여 가지의 듀엣 원곡 모음집(collection)들이 발췌되었으며, 3권 이상의 난이도로 분류된 모음집들은 총 5가지로 정리되었다. 특히 초급에서 고급 초기에 이르는 10가지 난이도로 구성된 듀엣 모음집『Masterwork Classics Duets』에서는 약 12개 국적의 50여명의 작곡가들이 쓴 다양한 스타일의 듀엣 원곡들을 확인할 수 있었다. 무엇보다도 피아노 듀엣 전문가들은 듀엣 지도에서 두 연주자간의 다이나믹과 소리의 균형에 유념하고, 서로 동일한 음악적 아이디어를 공유하며, 시간적 문제에 유연하게 소통할 수 있도록 훈련하는 부분이 매우 중요하다고 강조하였다. 국내 피아노 교육 현장에서도 교육용 듀엣 원곡 작품에 대한 적극적인 관심과 연구가 활발히 이루어져 학습자들에게 듀엣 명곡을 연주할 값진 무대의 기회들이 더욱 다양하게 장려될 수 있기를 바란다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study is to examine the pedagogical value of the original piano duets composed for the social music events and education. Moreover, it also aims to suggest the teaching strategies by crucial authors and pedagogues for piano duets. In South Korea, a large number of students learn transcriptions of the piano duets, but the most of them do not have any opportunity to work for original piano duets in their proper levels of the difficulties. Since the beginning of the duet history by W. A. Mozart in 18th century, the piano duet reached its golden age for about 150 years. Studying the original piano duets that included the composers intention and nature is very worthful for students to understand the historical background and musical styles. Therefore, this study will provide not only information for the pedagogical piano duet literature but also teaching tactics with positive pedagogical effects of the piano duets for teachers. According to the report by C. McGraw, there are more than one hundred collections of the original piano duets for elementary and intermediate students. The five collections of them provide pedagogical duet works in more than three levels of the difficulties. In particular, Masterwork Classics Duets, one of the graded collection of the original piano duets, provides a variety of pedagogical piano duet works by fifty composers from twelve countries in J. Magrath s 10-stage leveling system. Above all, piano duet specialists discussed that teachers need to encourage their students to have the balance of dynamic and sound tone, the unity of the musical interpretations, and the communications for timing with their partners in duet lessons.
