피아노 전공 대학생들의 연습 행동 특성 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 피아노 전공 대학생들의 연습 행동 특성을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 부산광역시에 소재한 D대학에 재학 중인 2, 3, 4학년 피아노 전공 대학생 18명이며, 각 학생당 30분가량의 연습 영상(총 270분)을 연구 자료로 사용하였다. 먼저 각 학생들의 연습에서 관찰되는 연습프레임 수, 연습프레임 평균시간, 연주시도 횟수, 연습프레임 당 연주시도 횟수, 그리고 평균 연주시도 시간을 분석하고(Maynard, 2006), 이를 토대로 학생들의 연습을 4가지 연습유형으로 분류하고(Rohwer& Polk, 2006), 학생들의 연습 특성(Duke et al., 2009)을 분석하였다. 연구결과 연습프레임 수, 연습프레임 평균시간, 연주시도 횟수, 연습프레임 당 연주시도 횟수, 그리고 평균 연주시도 시간은 학생들마다 다양하였으나, 이러한 차이는 연주능력과는 유의한 상관관계가 없었다(p>.05). 대부분의 학생들은 분석적, 반응적 유형의 연습을 하였으며, 실기 성적 상위권 학생들은 강약, 다이내믹, 음색의 변화 등 음조(inflection)를 가지고 연습하며 목표한 악절을 거의 완전하게 연주할 수 있을 때까지 반복해서 연습하였으나, 실기 성적 하위권 학생들은 음조 없이 곡을 단순화시켜서 연습하였고 목표한 악절의 실수한 부분만 수정한 후 바로 다음으로 연결해서 넘어갔다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of practice behaviors of college piano majors. The participants were 18 piano majors from a university in Busan, Korea. Each student`s practice was videotaped(30 minutes each, total of 270 minutes) and used for this study. The number of practice frames, mean durations of practice frames, the number of performance trials, the number of performance trials per frame, and mean performance trial duration were calculated(Maynard, 2006). Based on this, students` practices were determined into one of four categories of practicers(Rohwer & Polk, 2006), and the practice behaviors of each student were analyzed(Dukeetal., 2009). As a result, the number of practice frames, mean durations of practice frames, the number of performance trials, the number of performance trials per frame, and mean performance trial duration were different among students, but there were no significant differences associated with students` performance levels. Most students` practices were analytic and reactive. Top-ranked students practiced with inflection and repeated target passages until the error was corrected and the passage was stabilized.
