국문 초록

본 연구는 쉼터에서 일하는 아내학대 생존자의 경험을 밝히고, 당사자 관점에서 가정 폭력실천현장에서의 개입 방안을 모색하고자 수행되었다. 의도적 샘플링(purposeful sampling)을 활용한 본 연구에서는 쉼터에 입소한 경험이 있고, 퇴소 후 쉼터에서 일한 경험이 있는 아내학대 생존자를 연구참여자로 선정하였다. 자료수집은 2014년 12월부터 2015년 7월까지 이루어졌으며, 심층인터뷰 녹취록, 연구참여자의 수필, 편지, 일기 등이 분석 자료로 사용되었다. 연구결과는 시간이 지남에 따라 변화된 쉼터의 의미, 일터가 된 쉼터에서의 경험, 체험적 깨달음과 좋은 실천에 대한 성찰로 구성되었다. 연구결과를 토대로 가정폭력 피해자 보호시설의 서비스 향상을 위한 실천적 함의를 제시하였고, 가 정폭력현장의 전문성 향상을 위한 사회복지교육에서의 함의를 모색하였다. 본 연구는 쉼터의 역할과 서비스의 방향을 재정립하는데 유용한 정보를 제공할 수 있으리라 기대 된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to illuminate the experiences of women who were abused by their spouses and to find out intervention strategies in the field of domestic violence from a survivor’s perspective. This study applied the narrative approach. Using purposeful sampling, three female participants were selected. All of them were victims of wife abuse and in turn have had work experiences with victims of domestic violence at the battered women’s shelters. Data collection took place between December, 2014 and July, 2015. In-depth interview transcripts, essays, letters and diaries written by the participants were used for data analysis. The results of this study consisted of three themes: meanings of shelter changed over time, work experience at a shelter, and deep understanding through lived experiences and reflection on good practice. Based on the results of this study, the practical implications for the improvement of the services in domestic violence fields were suggested, and implications for the social work education for enhancing the competency of practitioners working with domestic violence victims were discussed. This study is expected to be used as an useful information for redefining the role of the victim protection facilities and the further direction of the services at battered women’s shelters.
