남녀 청소년의 부모관여와 사이버불링 가해행동 간의 관계: 자기통제와 또래동조의 순차적 이중 매개효과를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 인터넷 사용에 대한 남녀 청소년의 부모의 관여와 사이버불링 가해행동 간의 관계에서 청소년의 자기통제와 반사회적 또래동조의 순차적 이중 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 서울에 위치한 8개 중학교에서 연구참여자를 모집하였다. 연구대상은 남녀 중학생 총 304명이었다. 부모관여, 사이버불링 가해행동, 자기통제 및 반사회적 또래동조에 대한 자기보고식 질문지로 자료를 수집하였다. 자료분석 시 독립표본 t 검증, 상관분석, PROCESS macro를 활용한 매개모형검증을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 인터넷 사용에 대한 부모관여와 자기통제는 여학생들이 남학생들보다 더 높게 지각했고, 반사회적 또래동조와 사이버불링 가해행동은 남학생들이 여학생들보다 더 높게 보고했다. 둘째, 인터넷 사용에 대한 부모관여는 자기통제와 또래동조를 순차적으로 매개하여 사이버불링 가해행동에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 하지만, 남녀 표본을 구분해 분석한 결과, 부모관여와 사이버불링 가해행동 간의 관계에서 남학생들의 경우, 자기통제와 반사회적 또래동조 각각의 매개효과가 유의하게 나타났으나, 여학생들의 경우, 자기통제나 반사회적 또래동조 모두 유의한 매개효과가 나타나지 않았다. 이에 청소년의 성별을 고려해 사이버불링 가해행동과 관련된 경로에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to investigate dual sequential mediating effects of self-control and peer conformity of anti-social behaviors in the relationship between parental monitoring of internet use and cyberbullying perpetration in male and female adolescents. Participants were recruited from 8 middle schools in Seoul. A sample of 304 students participated in the study. Self-report questionnaires were used to assessed perceived parental monitoring of internet use, cyberbullying perpetration, self-control, and peer conformity of anti-social behaviors. Data were analyzed with t-tests, Pearson's correlation, and Model 6 in SPSS PROCESS Macro. Results indicated that female students reported higher parental monitoring of internet use and self-control compared to male students, while male students reported higher peer conformity of anti-social behaviors and engagement in cyberbullying perpetration compared to female students. Testing of the sequential mediating model in the overall sample showed parental monitoring of adolescent children influenced cyberbullying perpetration serially via self-control of adolescents and peer conformity of anti-social behaviors. However, in the male students' sample, parental monitoring was associated with cyberbullying perpetration via self-control and peer conformity of anti-social behaviors, respectively, while in the female students' sample, parental monitoring was associated with cyberbullying perpetration only via self-control. Gender-specific pathways from parental monitoring to cyberbullying perpetration were discussed.
