국문 초록

팬데믹이 사회적 양극화와 환경 위험을 심화시키면서, 기업들은 재무적 가치와 사회적 가치 사이의 균형을 맞추는 데 더욱 주력하고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 정부는 ESG경영의 중요성을 인식하고, 연금 및 외화 자산 운용에 ESG 요소를 적극적으로 통합하고 있다. 이는 기업과 정부 모두에게 지속 가능한 발전을 위한 새로운 접근 방식을 모색하도록 촉진하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기업의 ESG(환경, 사회, 지배구조) 성과가 미래 기업 가치에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. ESG 경영의 중요성을 강조하며, 미래이익반응계수(FERC)를 통해 ESG가 주가 정보성 향상에 어떻게 기여하는지를 실증분석 한다. 분석결과, ESG 점수가 높을수록 미래이익반응계수가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 기업의 ESG 활동이 투자자들이 미래전망을 예측하는데 높은 정보수준을 가진다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 투자자들이 ESG 성과가 높은 기업을 더 가치 있게 평가한다는 것을 시사하며, 비재무적 요소가 기업가치평가와 투자의사결정에 중요한 영향을 미침을 나타낸다. 본 연구는 ESG 활동과 주가 정보성의 관계를 명확히 밝히고, 이를 통해 투자자들의 기대와 관심을 심층적으로 분석함으로써, 지속 가능한 경제 발전과 사회적 가치 창출에 기여할 수 있다는데 공헌점이 있다.

영문 초록

As the pandemic exacerbates social polarization and environmental risks, companies are increasingly striving to balance financial and social values. Recognizing the importance of ESG management, governments are actively integrating ESG factors into the management of pensions and foreign assets, prompting both corporations and governments to explore new approaches for sustainable development. This study analyzes the impact of corporate ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) performance on future firm value, emphasizing the significance of ESG management and empirically examining how ESG contributes to enhancing stock price informativeness through the Future Earnings Response Coefficient (FERC). The analysis reveals that higher ESG scores correlate with higher FERC, indicating that corporate ESG activities provide investors with a high level of information for predicting future prospects, suggesting that investors value companies with high ESG performance more highly and demonstrating the significant impact of non-financial factors on corporate valuation and investment decisions. This research clarifies the relationship between ESG activities and stock price informativeness, providing a deep analysis of investors' expectations and interests. Thus, it contributes to sustainable economic development and the creation of social value by demonstrating the importance of integrating ESG factors into corporate and governmental strategic planning.
