영문 초록

This study aims to provide some formal account for derivational options in English sentences with recent informational and syntactic frameworks. Another purpose of this study is to develop a pedagogical method to teach Korean students how to choose the optimal sentence among optional sentence derivations in English. In order to develop a pedagogical method, this study utilizes formal mechanisms such as minimalism, optimality theory, and informational structure in which we see Binarity principle, Headedness principle, old and new information, and optimal output etc... It is well known that there are quite many derivational options in English sentence with no severe meaning difference.
