조선 전기 민간(民間)의 차생산과 유통 형태 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 조선 전기 민간의 차생산과 유통 양상을 고찰하기 위해 해당 시기에 편찬된 관찬지리지와관찬서 및 사서, 그리고 개인 시문집을 포괄적으로 살펴보았고, 민간의 차 생산과 유통 체계가 존재하였음을 직간접적으로 실증하는 기록들을 다수 볼 수 있었다. 관찬지리지에는 경남과 전라도의 32~35곳이 차산지로 기재되어 있었으나 문인들의 시문집을 통해 경북 경주, 경남 김해, 창원 등지에서도 차생산을 했으며, 관찬지에 차산지로 기재되어 있지만 실제로는 차가 더 이상 나지 않는 곳도 있었다. 이렇게 생산된 차는 시중에서 차를 마실수 있는 찻집, 차를 팔러 다녔던 상인, 장터를 통한 차의 매매, 문인들의 자급자족적 차 재배와 사찰의 차 생산을통한 선물 및 매매 등이 이루어지고 있었음을 시사하는 시어와 기록들을 다수 찾아볼 수 있었다. 이를 통해 당시차 생산과 유통에 대한 직접 자료가 부족한 상황에서도 민간에서는 중앙 조달용 및 시중 거래용 차 생산과 유통이 일상적으로 가능했음을 유추할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study examined the tea production and distribution by the private sector in the first half of the Joseon era. After researching various government-issued geography sections, history records, and tea poems, evidence of tea production and distribution by the private sector was found. National geography sections listed 32-35 tea production areas in Gyeongnam and Jeonra province, but other areas also produced teas according to tea poems. On the other hand, a certain region was listed as a tea production area on the national record whenin fact, it was no longer. Teas produced were distributed in tea shops, tea merchants, and markets. In addition, some scholars and temples produced teas and shared them as the form of a present. These findings suggest that, although there is insufficient direct information on tea production and distribution, enough evidence was found to assume tea production and distribution from the private sector encompassing teas for the central government and general use.
