국문 초록

본 논문은 지역산업연관표를 이용하여 광주광역시 자동차산업이 타 지역 관련 산업과 연계된 밸류 체인(value chain)을 구조적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 보면, 광주 자동차산업은 지역경제에 매우 큰 영향을 미치고 있지만 지역산업의 의존성이 크기 때문에 다른 지역으로의 수요 창출과 산업구조의 다변화가 요구된다. 특히 부가가치 기준으로 자기 지역의 최종수요에 상당히 의존하고 있어, 다른 지역으로의 수요를 다변화시킬 필요가 있다. 이러한 점에서 광주 자동차산업은 최종수요의 소비 측면에서는 자동차수리업 등의 개인서비스부문과의 연계, 투자 측면에서는 연구개발 등의 사업서비스부문과의 연계, 수출 측면에서는 자동차부품산업과 관련된 제조업부문과의 연계 육성 정책이 필요하다. 마지막으로 광주 자동차산업은 부가가치 창출에 비해 취업 창출 비율이 상대적으로 낮기 때문에, 고용창출을 위한 전략적인 정책이 필요하다. 최근 성사된 ‘광주형 일자리’에 따르면, 자동차산업은 고용창출에 중요한 전략적 전환점이 될 수 있다. 이와 더불어 일반적으로 취업계수가 높은 자동차 관련 서비스산업과의 육성 정책도 필요하다.

영문 초록

This paper structurally analyzed the value chains of the automobile industry in Gwangju area connected with other regional industries using the regional input-output table. According to the analysis results, although the Gwangju automobile industry has a very large impact on the local economy, it is necessary to create demand for other regions and diversify the industrial structure because of the large dependence of the local industry. Especially, it depends on the final demand of its region based on added value, so it is necessary to diversify the demand to other regions. In this regard, the Gwangju automobile industry needs to be linked with the personal service sector such as automobile repair business in terms of consumption of final demand, to the business service sector such as R&D in terms of investment, and to the manufacturing sector related to the automobile parts industry in terms of export. Finally, since the Gwangju automobile industry has relatively low job creation ratio compared to value added creation, strategic policies for job creation are needed. Recently, ‘Gwangju-type job’ can be an important strategic turning point in creating employment in the automobile industry. In addition, it is necessary to foster the automobile-related service industry with high employment coefficient.
