국문 초록

본고는 1960년대 소설 「병신과 머저리」에서 영화 <시발점>으로 매체전환 과정에서 관념적 소설의 영화적 변용이 어떻게 이루어졌는지 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 서사 적 층위에서는 극적 공간과 인물성격과 관계의 변화, 사건의 추가 등을 변경함으로써 주 제의식도 변하게 된다. 뿐만 아니라 새로운 장르적 이질성까지 접합하는데 그것은 원작 소설에서는 느낄 수 없었던 멜로드라마적 자질이다. 매체적 특성에 의해 서사구조가 변하고 서사를 전달하는 서술 자체도 변용된다. 특히 「병신과 머저리」가 지닌 관념성은 시각화에 있어서 본질적 어려움을 내포하고 있다. 김 수용 감독은 전환불가능한 형질을 지닌 관념적 서술을 영상화시키기 위해 다양한 영상 기법을 구사한다. <시발점>에서는 플래시백, 교차편집, 모르코놈(흑백화면)기법, 애니 메이션을 활용하여 원작의 서술을 세련되게 재현했다. 이는 바쟁이 말한 영화가 원작과 동일한 재현을 하기 위해서는 더 큰 상상력이 요구된다는 의미와 일맥상통하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to examine how the cinematic transformation of ideological novels took place in the process of media transformation from the 1960s novel 「A Pool and an Idiot」 to the movie . In addition, it combines new genre heterogeneity, which is a melodramatic quality that could not be felt in the original novel. The narrative structure changes due to media characteristics, and the narrative itself that conveys the narrative is transformed. In particular, the idea of 「A Pool and an Idiot」 implies essential difficulties in visualization. Director Kim Soo-yong uses various imaging techniques to visualize ideological narratives with irreversible traits. In < The Starting Point>, the description of the original work was reproduced in a sophisticated manner by using flashback, cross-editing, morconom (black and white screen) technique, and animation. This is in line with the meaning that the film mentioned by the bazaar requires a greater imagination in order to reproduce the same as the original work.
