이 논문은 미·중 전략적 경쟁의 발전 동향을 조사하고, 이것이 세계 경제 지배와 글로벌 가치사슬 재구성에 미치는 심도 있는 영향을 분석한다. ‘워싱턴 컨센서스’ 시대부터 현대적인 보호무역 정책까지의 역사적 맥락을 검토하면서, 두 나라 간의 복잡한 상호 작용과 함께 글로벌 경제 질서의 위기를 강조한다. 이 연구는 특히 미국과 중국 사이에서 얽힌 한국이 이러한 변화에 대해 필요로 하는 전략적 대응에 초점을 맞춘다. 객관적 시각의 중요성을 강조하면서, 미·중 간 갈등의 장기적인 성격, 글로벌 가치사슬의 재구성, 그리고 한국이 이러한 변화를 현명하게 탐색해야 하는 필요성을 종합적으로 파악할 필요가 있다고 주장한다.

영문 초록

This article delves into the evolving dynamics of the US-China strategic competition, exploring its profound implications on global economic governance and the restructuring of value chains. Analyzing the historical context from the ‘Washington Consensus’ era to the contemporary protectionist policies, the study highlights the intricate interplay between the two nations, shaping a crisis in global economic order. The focus extends to the strategic responses required by Korea, caught between these superpowers. Emphasizing the need for an objective perspective, the article calls for a comprehensive understanding of the US-China conflict’s prolonged nature, the reshaping of global value chains, and the imperative for Korea to navigate these shifts judiciously.
