자생해외봉사 참여자의 경험에 관한 사례 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학생들의 자생해외봉사경험에 대한 질적 연구이며, 참여자들이 봉사를 준비하는 과정, 현지활동 과정, 봉사 후 삶의 영향을 나누어서 경험들을 깊이 있게 살펴보고자 하였다. 자료는 반구조화된 질문지를 토대로 1:1면접방법을 진행하였고 사례연구 방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 첫째, 봉사준비과정에서 참여가능 요인을 밝혔다. 자생봉사에 대한 기대감에 대해서 스스로 의미 있는 일을 진행하는 것에 대한 기대감이 높았으며 프로그램 개발이라는 흥미가 참여할 수 있게 하는 요인이 되었다. 둘째, 공동체 활동이 준비과정속에서 가장 핵심적 요소임을 밝혔다. 어려운 점으로는 대학생으로서 처음 접하는 서류 작업과 행정서식 작성이 어려움을 이야기 하였으며 개인시간의 할애, 타인과의 의견을 조율의 어려움, 새로운 지역에 대한 두려움을 이야기 하였다. 셋째, 준비과정과 봉사 후의 인식의 차이가 발견되었다. 자원봉사활동이 일방적 교류가 아닌 쌍방향 교류라는 것을 깨닫게 해준 중요사건이라고 할 수 있다. 또한 사전에 봉사지에 대한 기대와 봉사지에서 느꼈던 부분이 일치할 때 참가자들에게 높은 만족도를 가져오는 것을 발견할 수 있었다. 행정과정의 기록화와 팀빌딩을 준비과정에서 보완 강화할 필요가 있다. 넷째, 현지활동에서의 깨달음과 활동을 통한 성장은 참가자의 다양한 삶의 영역에서 영향을 미친 것을 나타났다. 사전에 시뮬레이션 기법을 자세히 안내하고 자신의 활동에 대한 이미지트레이닝을 지속적으로 강조하게 된다면 사전점검 완성도를 높일 수 있을 것이다. 다섯째, 자생봉사 경험 후 봉사가 인간관계의 중요성을 깨닫게 해주고 역량발휘는 안정적인 인간관계가 뒷받침될 때 가능함을 깨닫게 됨으로써 조직내 인간관계의 중요성과 대응방식을 알게 하였다. 또한 해외 경험과 자생력을 갖춘다는 것이 앞으로도 맡게 될 일에 대해서 두려움을 해소시켜주는 요소를 발견할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study is a qualitative study of college students' spontaneous overseas volunteering experiences, and intends to examine the experiences in depth by dividing the participants' preparation for service, the process of field activities, and the impact of their life after service. The data were analyzed using a case study method and 1:1 interview method based on a semi-structured questionnaire. First, factors that can participate in the volunteer preparation process were identified. Regarding the expectations for Spontaneous overseas volunteering, the expectations for doing meaningful work on their own were high, and the interest in program development became a factor that allowed them to participate. Second, it was revealed that community activities were the most important factor in the preparation process. As for difficulties, he talked about the difficulties of working with paperwork and filling out administrative forms for the first time as a college student. They also talked about allocating personal time, difficulties coordinating with others, and fear of new territories. Third, a difference was found between the preparation process and the perception after the service. This is an important event that made me realize that volunteering is a two-way exchange, not a one-way exchange. In addition, it is necessary to supplement and strengthen the documentation of administrative processes and team building in the preparation process. Fourth, it was shown that the realization of local activities and growth through activities had an impact in various areas of life of the participants. Fifth, after experiencing Spontaneous volunteer service, it made people realize the importance of human relationships and realized that it is possible to demonstrate competence when stable human relationships are supported.
