국문 초록

고린도전서 7:1-7에 관한 최근의 연구는 바울이 본문에서 고린도교회 내 금욕주의자들의 문제를 다룬다고 본다. 본 논문은 최근의연구 동향을 반영하여 본문 해석에 접근한다. 논문은 1b절의 해석, 6절의 τοῦτο 의미 분석, 본문 구조 분석과 주해를 통해 본문에 나타난 바울의 논지를 파악한다. 논문은 우선 1b절에 나오는 ἅπτομαι의의미를 분석하고 그 의미에 근거하여 이 구절을 해석한다. 이 용어가‘성관계를 갖다’라는 뜻의 완곡화법(euphemism)이고, 인용된 슬로건은 “남자가 여자와 성관계를 갖지 않는 것이 유익하다”라는 의미임을 밝힌다. 다음으로 논문은 6절의 τοῦτο에 관한 학자들의 견해를비교 분석하여 그것이 지시하는 바를 검토한다. 본 연구는 지시대명사 τοῦτο의 의미에 관한 네 가지 주요 견해를 분석하고, 그것이 5b절에 언급된 ‘일시적인 분방’을 지시한다고 파악한다. 끝으로 논문은본문의 구조 분석과 주해를 통해 바울의 논지를 명확히 드러낸다. 특히 논문은 2-5절을 a-b-b´-a´의 교차대구법(chiasm)으로 분석하고, 본문에서 바울의 초점이 부부 성관계에 있음을 밝힌다. 이 연구는 1a절 ἅπτομαι의 의미와 1b절에 인용된 금욕주의 슬로건 이해에 도움이 된다. 또한 6절의 τοῦτο의 의미 분석을 통해 본문의 문맥적 흐름과논지를 이해하는 데 공헌한다. 본문 구조 이해와 본문 주해에도 이바지하는 바가 있다. 본 논문이 7:1-7의 해석에 통찰력을 제공하고, 학문적 연구에 자극제가 되리라 기대한다.

영문 초록

A recent study of 1 Corinthians 7:1-7 sees Paul in the text addressing the problem of ascetics in the Corinthian church. This thesis, by reflecting the recent research, aims to identify the subject and the arguing point, and to interpret the text. For this purpose, the thesis first analyzes the meaning of ἅπτομαι in v.1b and interprets this passage based on that meaning. The term is a common ‘euphemism’ for the meaning of ‘to have sexual intercourse with a woman’, and so the quoted slogan is understood to mean “It is beneficial for a man not to have a sexual intercourse with a woman.” Next, the thesis compares and analyzes scholars’ views on τοῦτο in v. 6 and examines what it indicates. It examines four main views for the demonstrative pronoun τοῦτο, and finds the view that it refers to the ‘temporary abstinence’ mentioned in v. 5a to be persuasive. In this context, Paul’s speaking in terms of concession rather than command is an exceptional case of depriving one another. Finally, the thesis reveals Paul's argument through structural analysis and commentary on the text. The analysis of the textual structure reveals that Paul's focus is on marital intercourse according to the chiasm of a-b-bʹ-aʹ in vv. 2-5. This thesis is helpful in understanding the meaning of ἅπτομαι and the quoted slogan of asceticism in v. 1b. It also contributes to understanding the meaning of τοῦτο in verse 6, and the textual flow and the main point of the text. The thesis contributes to analyzing the structure of the text and its interpreting. It is expected to provide insight into the interpretation of 7:1-7 and to stimulate academic researches.
