국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구의 목적은 대학의 인재상에 부합하는 핵심역량을 정립하고 이에 적합한 핵심역량 진단도구를 개발하여 타당화하는 것이다. 연구방법: 사례대학의 핵심역량 및 하위역량을 규명하기 위해 문헌조사를 실시하였으며, 교수 및 학생 인식조사를 통해 핵심역량 하위역량의 적합성을 파악하였다. 이를 토대로 핵심역량 하위역량을 확정하고 대학 맞춤형 핵심역량 진단도구를 개발하였다. 진단도구에 대한 예비조사와 본조사 실시하였으며 각 조사 결과에 대한 통계적 검증을 통해 진단도구의 타당화를 진행하였다. 연구결과: 사례대학의 핵심역량 진단도구는 최종적으로 6대 핵심역량, 12개의 하위역량, 총 58개의 문항으로 구성되었다. 최종 문항에 대한 신뢰도 분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 확인적 요인분석, 문항반응분석 등을 실시한 결과 신뢰도와 타당도를 모두 갖추었음을 확인하였다. 학술적 기여: 이 연구는 대학생 핵심역량의 새로운 영역을 도출, 타당화하여 대학생 핵심역량의 개념 확장과 재정립에 기여할 수 있다. 더불어 사례대학의 진단도구를 개발하고 다양한 분석방법을 활용한 엄밀한 타당화 과정을 거침으로써, 인재상과 교육목표에 특화된 맞춤형 핵심역량 진단도구를 개발하고자 하는 대규모 종합대학을 위한 기초 자료 및 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to develop an institutional assessment tool of undergraduates’ core competencies that epitomize the image of talent of University B. To this end, a comprehensive literature review was conducted to explore the theoretical basis of core competencies, and the importance and relevance of those competencies derived from the prior procedure were reviewed via a survey of its faculty members and undergraduate students. Core competencies and sub-competencies were then identified. A preliminary survey and main survey were performed on the assessment tool, and its validation was carried out by using confirmatory factor analysis and item response theory. This study showed that University B's core competency assessment tool consisted of six core competencies, 12 sub competencies, and a total of 58 questions. An array of rigorous statistical tests, such as reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and item response analysis, confirmed that the appropriate level of both reliability and validity was achieved. This study contributes to developing a core competency assessment tool for undergraduate students at a comprehensive university in general, and a customized assessment tool aligned with institution-specific goals of education in particular.
