‘신독일악파’와 보수파의 대립

국문 초록

19세기 중엽 무렵, 서구 음악계에서는 “신독일악파 vs. ‘보수주의자”의 대립이 발생한다. 그리고 현행 음악사는 두 그룹의 대표자들을 “도저히 화해할 수 없는” 극단적 이분법으로 분리하여서술하고 있다. 그러나 최근의 서구 학계의 연구 성과는 슈만과 베를리오즈, 슈만과 리스트가(적어도 일정 기간동안) 상호 간에 존경했으며, 음악미학적 관점에서도 상당한 접촉점이 있음을보여주고 있다. 그리고 이와는 반대로 ‘신독일악파’의 이른바 대표적 ‘3인방’, 즉 리스트, 베를리오즈 및 바그너 사이에는 오히려 상당한 음악관의 불일치가 드러나고 있으며 인간적 배타성마저노출되고 있다. 본 연구는 이와 관련된 주요 내용을 비판적 시각에서 다루었다.

영문 초록

Around the middle of the 19th century, the “New German School” verse The “Conservatives” was confronted in the western music world. And current music history divides the representatives of the two groups into an extreme dichotomy that is “incompatible”. However, recent research results in Western academic circles show that Schumann and Berlioz, Schumann and Liszt respected each other (at least temporarily) and that there is a significant point of contact from a music-aesthetic point of view. On the contrary, between the three composers(Liszt, Berlioz and Wagner) of the “New German School” there is rather a considerable difference of opinion in their understanding of music, and even human exclusivity is exposed. This study took a critical look at the essential content in this context.
