청년의 정치효능감이 사회신뢰와 정부신뢰에 미치는 영향 연구

국문 초록

최근 치러진 제20대 대통령선거를 비롯하여 정치권에서는 청년세대를 위한 다양한 정책을 내놓고 있다. 특히 청년세대가 가장 중요하게 여기는 ‘공정’이라는 가치를 전면에 내세우고 청년층의 표심을 확보하기 위해 노력을 기울고 있다. 그러나 여전히 국내 정치는 청년세대의 공감을 얻지 못하고 있다. 최근 이루어진 많은 조사에서 청년세대의 정부신뢰와 사회신뢰 수준이 매우 낮으며, 이 과정에 공정성에 대한 인식이 매우 중요한 요인으로 작용하고 있음을 직간접적으로 보여주었다. 이에 본 연구는 청년세대가 인식하는 정부와 사회에 대한 신뢰를 높이고자 이들이 갖는 정치효능감과의 영향관계를 살펴보고, 사회공정성이 갖는 매개효과를 확인하여 정책적 함의를 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 기술통계 분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석, 공분산구조분석 등을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 청년의 내·외적 정치효능감은 사회공정성을 매개로 정부신뢰와 사회신뢰에 정(+)의 영향관계를 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 청년세대의 정부 및 사회신뢰를 제고하기 위해 정치효능감과 공정성 인식 제고에 관심을 기울여야 함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 이론적·정책적 의의를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The younger generation has become the focus of various policies proposed by political circles, including those discussed during South Korea’s recent 20th presidential election. Despite the prioritization of “fairness,” which is considered the most important value by the younger generation, and efforts to secure their votes, political circles have failed to gain their sympathy. Numerous surveys have shown that the younger generation perceives society as unfair, which leads to a decline in trust in the government and society. This study attempted to analyze the relationship between the political efficacy of the younger generation, social fairness, and trust in the government and society. To accomplish this, descriptive statistical analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and covariance structure analysis were conducted. The results indicate that the internal and external political efficacy of young people has a positive effect on government trust and social trust through social fairness. Thus, enhancing the political efficacy and social fairness of the younger generation is necessary to increase their trust in the government and society. The study concludes by presenting theoretical and political implications.
